May have been a blind draw but sure looks like perfect first round seeding ?

South lost to Sullivan - big surprise. Does anyone know how the Smith kid played?

I have not been to a Classic game for the first time ever... But I think I am going to go watch North play tonight. North tonight, Sycamores tomorrow night but that is going to be a long drive - not looking forward to that! Hopefully the Sycamores can bring home a win to make it a FUN ride home!

good to see saylor's system crash and burn. i got a question for mike. what is the equivalent percentage for passing up wide open two pointers to pass out for missed threes? and what's the gross yield of that strategy?

i just hope these typical front-running south fans who are going to the north game tonight don't sit in the north section.

ahahah Oh, I will be dammed if I cheer for North to win tonight... I never cheer for North to win. I can also tell you that I aint cheering for South to win, not playing like that. I refuse to watch them ever again this year...

Bucket, why the need to take shots at South fans? You act like all South fans are like that? Why can't we just go and enjoy the game.... Arggg!

Bucket is always ready to take a shot at someone or something. Like I've said before, I personally root for all the Vigo County schools. I tend to root for TH South in basketball, TH North in football, and WV in baseball.(I really like Steve DeGroote) TH North fans are over-estimating their team this year in my opinion. TH North can't shoot and that will come back to bite them. I will say that TH North got the raw end of the deal with the whole Woefle/Boehler coaching decision. Boehler can flat coach his ass off. Gets everything he can out of West Vigo.

rooting for north AND south is not possible. and please don't root for north football. please oh please.

i just call them like i see them and south fans are front runners as witness morgan's comments. (which i read as him saying "when they win then i'll go back" and to me that's not a true fan; by definition that's a front runner)

btw, saylor's running the same system he's run for several years.

sometimes bullies don't like to be stood up to ya know. if ya want to dish it out you have to be able to take it. so i'll be as snide as some others here are as long as they are.

Like I've said before, it is possible! It's possible when your father and his whole family went to South. You grow up only going to South games and this is at a time when TH South had powerhouse teams and players. McGee, Richardson, Evans, Hart....I then went to TH North. I played football for TH North so I root for North football, grew up on TH South basketball, and I don't really care in baseball. I coached baseball for years at Terre Town so I like North, but I've coached kids who have played at TH South and WV. A few years ago, my wife coached basketball with DeGroote and taught at WV. He always treated my wife with class and respect so I have found myself rooting for them lately.

No no bucket, I am not going to watch them go out and avoid layups for 3pters. They have NOT been doing that for years - they shot the 3 a bunch last year, but shot it at a high %. Because they were a fast break team and both Odum and Jarvis would get to the rim. They did not rely on the 3 to win games... I am not going to watch that 3 point shooting contest because that aint basketball. So if that makes me a front runner or whatever you want to call it then fine...

When South plays basketball the way it should be played, then and only then I will go back. This proves that you don't me from adam bucket. Because 3 years ago in the Classic I cheered for every team but South to win when the elder Odum (Zach) played for South because I could not stand his attitude. If I remember correctly that South team won the Classic? So don't assume you know me based on how I post. Nor am I going to watch them have poor attitudes and get technical fouls... So if that makes me a front runner or whatever you want to call it then fine...

South was easy to cheer for last year - they were fun to watch. Jake Odum makes basketball fun to watch, they played hard and got after it last year. Had a little swagger to them, played pretty tough defense. This South team does not play hard, they just chuck the 3 and Mike Saylor sits over their and does nothing about it and I don't have the time or money to watch that - now how does that make me a fair fan?

I do believe you can root for north and south and not be crazy. I am a south alum but i cheer for the team who is playing to the best of their ability. NOw you may say that is being a front runner but i just like watching good basketball. I followed the 05 South team with Armon and company because they were fun to watch and played hard. In 06' North had the better team with Blank, Gilmore, Jeffers, etc. They played to their ablities and were extremely well coached. Last year has Morgan said South was a ton of fun to watch both offensively and defensively and it also was interesting because they had success playing a different style of ball. I think the reason south fans are so ticked off is Mike saylor is trying to play the same style of ball with a group that is not capable of doing it. They cant bring the defensive pressure like the kids could last year and miss the drive and dish guy (Odum) that you need to run that offense. So why not switch your gameplan to cater to the kids strengths? That is why i do not blame south fans for not attending, Saylor is to stubborn to realize you cant run that system with every group of kids. Last years squad was an exception not the norm.

South's problem this year, is that they shoot too many 3's, and they built that team around Jarvis, and when he isn't hitting, the team ain't winning. South just isn't as good as they were last year with Odum, McIntyre. You can really tell that South needs Jake out there to be competitive.

the cultures at north and south are so different it precludes rooting for both.

watching a guy dribble for 45 seconds and then walking in the lane is not fun to watch.

and no jarvis can't put the ball on the floor to get to the rim

Ok Ill bite and spar with ya, This is a dumb statement....and I am a North grad. I root for North when they play South, and then I root for all County teams not playing North. I wanted South to beat LN in the Semi-state....according to your comment I cant count on you pulling for North to beat Bloomington South in the Regional if North wins sectional? Am I a lesser person if I root for South if they win the sectional?

I just think that North South is a pretty good rival game... I think you have to keep in mind that I am not all that far removed from the class of 2005 and some of memories of my yesteryears still linger... lol I guess I should say I am pretty impartial, last night inside I wanted Marshall to win, but on the outside I didn't really care who won.

I like going to games and watching as a fan of the game, not necesarrly a fan of a team. I think over the course of the game you pick a favorite team. Take last night for example before the North Marshall game. Morovia was playing Linton - I sat down at the start of the 3rd quarter and Monrovia was up about 12 and looked like a much better team. Well a few minutes in a kid from Monrovia clearly traveled and I said that's got to be a travel - I didn't say it load enough for anyone outside my immediate area to hear me. The kid in front of me (Monrovia fan about 17 years old) says aren't you sitting on the wrong side? Surprised that he said anything I said, actually I am pretty impartial but now I am cheering for Linton... lol At the time Linton was down 14 - they came back and won by 2. Sheepishly the kid walked out of the gym with a long drive back to Monrovia... So see, sometimes we don't always choose the teams we cheer for, the teams we cheer for choose us!
