yup i got a good little laugh about the priceless line, then the next line it says how it will be a 1,000 or whatever to replace it.

Here is the thing to think about in this situation...

If it was stolen, that is actually a good thing. Now...hear me out here.
Sycamore Sam has not been entirely "popular" on this board on in reality over the years since he was created. I can tell you this...that first mascot suit was soooooo accessible that it could have been stolen many, many times. With 3 different versions of the suit/head there are sooo many opportunities for it to be stolen (its not like it is "guarded").
But the fact that a student or an organization or another school stole it shows that Sycamore Sam is actually doing his job, he is a "representative" or "enbodiment" of ISU to the individual/s that have taken it. At least, it is looked at as valueable in someway to those that took it (whether for bragging rights, or another reason).

I guess what I am saying, is that there can be a positive spin put on this situation (which is probably just sitting out the costume and returning and it was gone). and that spin is simple, SYCAMORE SAM is popular enough after 15 years to have his head stolen! And since he is the mascot, that isn't necessarily all bad...hope it is returned!
