The Varsity Level
Well I am watching the game on FCS and I have been noticing most of the players are big and strong but more importantly from Iowa and and North Dakota. My point is that if ISU could recruit stong in Indiana we could get more players like Jamie Pertroski more players like Sam Logan. Coach McGuire seemed to get better talent then what we are currently. What was he doing?
On another note, the dome that NDSU uses is very nice, as well I hear the one NIU uses is as well. No matter how much money they dump into memorial stadium it is still in a bad part of town and it is not on Campus! I would love more then anything for the ISU to get their athletics figured out. Being Alum of ISU and checking the score to see us lose all the time gets very old. I hope the basketball team can put it together this year.

I think if we start recruiting in different parts of Indiana, and maybe Miles should start recruitng in other states as well. If we keep recruiting in Indiana, we're not going to get any better, because all of the better football players in Indiana are getting recruited to either Notre Dame, Indiana, or Purdue, and even Franklin who is ranked in division 3.

I dont mean to be the devils advocate but dont you think other states talents are going to the big schools in that state.

I agree, but stay in Indiana..we need to stop just taking kids from TH North and South. ISU needs to get into the Indianapolis area and get big 5A schools like, Avon, Brownsburg, Warren Central, Center Grove, Pike. They have kids that are overlooked by schools but would be a great fit for ISU

I so agree we need to get away from Terre Haute because the talent is few and far between Indiana is a big state hit it hard!

We should definitely recruit the Indy area hard. Some of the best high school football teams in the country are an hour away. There are no high school programs in Iowa or the Dakotas that compare with the Lawrence Centrals, Cathedrals and Ben Davises.

It always frustrates me living in Iowa and hearing people make excuses for why Indiana colleges are so mediocre at football. "They're not a football state," they say, but the Indy high school teams could clobber the best football teams in Iowa and the Dakotas any day of the week. It's so sad that Indiana let's so many of its best football players leave for programs outside the state. Pathetic really.

Now ISU need to recruit players that did not get picked up by a big school on that list promise them playing time and then the players ranked 21-40. That is the talent we need. A coupe of times on here i have read about well we are losing talent to Franklin, Manchester, Wabash. You are a fool to believe we are losing talent to those schools. we dont want that talent we have had those players the past 5 years and look at us. We want transfers from D1 and players that can play at the next level
