I thought this was a weird move. maybe he took it because he wants to "play to win the game"

I thought the new coach was a weirder move. not saying it wont work but it surprises me.

depending on how good the previous 2 coaches actually were, we may never know. he might not ever have to show what he can do with the program. Dino Babers went from a position coach at Baylor to HC at Syracuse (via EIU HC and Bowling Green HC) without ever coaching an upperclassman he recruited.
 
My guess is they're sick of going through losing coaches. Maybe they hope if they give someone a bigger opportunity they'll stick around?
 
We are all talking about Herm right? Not following how it compares to Dino Babers who I happen to think ASU would have been better off hiring.

To be their WR coach? Don't think he'd take the job since he's still the Syracuse HC. Maybe next year after he gets fired.

As for WIU, they did pretty well under Fisher. Two winning seasons and playoffs this year. I'd take two-year HC stints if they can turn us into a winner.
