Not sure if anyone has looked at the schedule since conference slate was released but all except for Evansville is played back-to-back in successive days and some pairings are on the road, some at home. Evansville is the only team we split H/H with this year.

I noticed that; made the assumption it's because the Burple Aces are "only" 110 miles down the road

Biggest challenge is probably the fact that you have no time to analyze and learn from any mistakes in the first game.

If you’re on a streak, good or bad, I think that gets amplified in a back-to-back situation. There will be no time to go back to the drawing board in between games. You get what you get.

Likely a lot of series sweeps .......... if team is mentally tough you get two W's. if not it will go the other way.

Agree with most that has been said. I'd also contend it likely eliminates any home court advantage as travel is minimized as well as outside distractions of their day-to-day lives as student athletes.

You know what’s more difficult than defeating a team twice in one season? Defeating a team two days in a row.

Two games in two days will be a blur. I tried look for a sports analytic spreadsheet that already had the winning/losing percentages of this kind of back-to-back situation and couldn't find one. I'd say, whoever wins the first game, has a high probability of sweeping the series....but we will see.

So just a heads up, the first set of double-ups starts this Sunday and continues on Monday....and most games are televised via ESPN3, ESPN+, etc.

The Illinois State vs. Loyola game on Sunday is Nationally Televised and their 2nd matchup on Monday is televised via the CBS Sports Network. Plus for us Old Schoolers, they're all on RADIO....and if you don't how to get these stations via the internet by now...lordy lordy have mercy on your Sycamore Soul.

Note: The exception of this first double-up series is Bradley and Valparaiso. For some reason, it looks their games are postponed, per the MVC calendar. So get your popcorn, wings, snacks, pizza, and drinks ready cuz it's going to be two days of fun basketball watching, and a lot to take in!

P.S. for those who are still watching the NFL and following Tonyan, the Packers home game against the Titans is Sunday evening at 8:30.
