Hydraulic fracturing, more commonly and notoriously known as fracking. Buried that kind of deep in the article. I find it interesting how many people go on and on about how great these lower gas prices are, including your local TV news media, and then they have no clue about fracking and many of the criticisms about the practice. All that matters is they can afford to buy gas guzzlers again, at least until the oil starts running out.

Low gas prices would be great if we actually had them. I know they are lower than they were, but those high gas prices were a major factor in the economy collapsing 7 or 8 years ago. The only reason the prices are relatively low right now is because opec under the direction of Saudi Arabia decided to have high output. Their hope was to shut down the oil fields in the USA by eliminating the profits.
