We can't be intimidated by 100,000+ locals expecting a blow-out. We must be confident; that comes from excellent preparation and is a given in my opinion. And honestly, we will need some good luck, which can come from the preparation.

I can take some criticism on the run up to this game given where we were three years ago, but this guy's take offends me. At no point in recent years have a I felt like the university sacrificed football for the benefit of the basketball program. Pretty irresponsible.

Boy, that guy sure did his research, didn't he? Wow, that was some insightful journalism...

We never sacrificed football for basketball. Prior to RP, all of our teams (except women's basketball) were equally ignored...

Matthew Mulligan is both ignorant and offensive in my considered opinion. I hope he is large enough to print an apology when he is proven wrong.

I was going to have a Top Ten of what it will take to beat - Penn State, but it turned into a Top 11?

1. No more than two turnovers...we can not blow any long or short snaps.
2. Keep our offense on the field and burn the clock....if we can do that, the scoring will take care of itself.
3. No more than 5 penalties and none of that adding up to more 50 yards...and oh yeah, no stupid penalities like offensive offsides, illegal motion, and the dumbest of all penalties...... blocks in the back and clipping!!!
4. Hitting all FG attempts from 40 yards and in......okay, all FGs from 35 yards and in
5. No missed PAT's
6. Some blocking assignments can breakdown, but we can't afford too many blown ones.....PSU will blitz us and seek out Fouch to hurt him and put him down.
7. More of 6. We must protect Fouch at all costs.
8. If we can find one weakness in Penn States defense, we must go out it....again and again and again.
9. Special teams like the punting team, PAT, and FG teams must be prepared to take the field when its time.....we can't be fumbly around with players coming out on the field late because the coaches didn't say "FG team get ready in case we don't convert, 3 and 7 from the 29". Dumb stuff like that costs points and games.
10. And one thing that drives me nuts....we must not allow any of their rushing or passing plays to get outside....every player must have the discipline to force ALL play back to the inside, where the pursuit is.
11. Players need to start getting hydrated two days before the game and stay hydrated...everyone needs to be peeing like a race horse because they've drank a quart of water every hour for 3 days straight....staying hydrated will keep our best players in the game and help them avoid injury....it's going to be hot in Happy Valley that Saturday....and staying hydrated is a key to a Sycamore victory!

Once we get into the redzone, we cannot settle for FG's, we have to score touchdowns to stay in the game.

If you look at the first game he mentioned, Duke vs. Richmond, he calls the Spiders not once, but twice a Div. II team. They're Div. I-AA and won the National Championship not too long ago. Idiot.
