I know I am going to both games for sure and hold nothing back on spirit and going as the Sycamorefanatic. So how many people are remotely planning on going to either or both games? Well I know there is a storm coming and it is heading for Memorial Stadium Bloomington on August 29th and Ross-ade Stadium on September 7th iu-isu.jpgisu storm.jpgisu storm 1.jpg

I can not wait. We have a group of 5 who are going to both. We are tailgating at Purdue but will not be able to tailgate at IU due to the early Thursday start. I am curious if people are going to wait and purchase tickets through ISU or get them online and sit randomly. Tickets are so cheap on stubhub but will not be with ISU crowd.

No ifs, ands or buts. Will be at both proudly. I have never missed a game when we had played Purdue or I.U. and don't plan to start now. Love the atmosphere.

for sure going to the purdue game. that thursday game at I.U. will be hard to make though.

I plan on going to both. Wouldn't an IU win be sweet to kick off the Mike Sanford era?

Everything I have been reading says that IU is expected to be much improved this year. We gave them a great game last year. IU fans are expecting a blowout win this year. On another note- has anyone heard if the band is planning to go to either or both games? Also, is everyone buying tickets through ISU or getting them on your own?

That very thought has occurred to me as well. New coach, new system would cast doubts on that happening but I love the "countdown" clock mounted in the locker room and EVERYTHING I have heard so far leads to a very strong coach and one who seemingly knows how to motivate his players. That can go a long way to boost success ahead of schedule.

I will be at both games -- hoping my old ISU (and fellow Springs Valley grad) will come down from Wisconsin also for the Purdue game.
Would love for the band to be there also -- added alot at the IU game last year -------- but hoping the band size has grown considerably since then. WAY TOO small -- embarassingly small for a school of 12,000 students.
Hey -- in early Sept. ISU could be standing atop the Big Ten at 2 - 0 !

Last I heard about the band was that they were hoping to go to one, and it was looking like Purdue because they went to IU last year. That was last year, with last year's band director, so we'll see what pans out with the new director. I'd love to see the band at Purdue because that's the game I'll be at.

As for the band's size - It's hard to grow a band with little institutional support with regard to the position of Director of Athletic Bands. We're now on the fifth Director of Athletic Bands in five years, although the new woman in charge has a three-year appointment so there will finally be stability in the program. I wouldn't say the band was embarrassingly small -- and either way, I'd rather have a band the size of the Marching Sycamores that sounds as good as they do than a band the size of the Marching Hundred with a poor sound.

Go State and GO BAND!

I m talking with ISU people to see if we can get discounted tickets to both games.

I know that students can go to IU games for 5 dollars. They only have to show their student ID. That includes students from ISU. I think the regular tickets through ISU will be 40 dollars for each game.

Well i just read Purdue has a new method for ticket cost. good teams more cost, bad weather cheap tickets, bad teams moderate ticket costs. so we will have to see what we can get through isu cost wise.

Can you send me information regarding these student tickets you are talking about? If this is true (and I am in no way saying you are wrong) I would potentially advertise this to the Forest. I just can't find anywhere talking about this deal.

I saw it listed on the IU site last year. It said that student tickets with an ID were 5 dollars. It also said that they accepted any college student from other universities. I will try to find where I saw that but can't swear I can find it again.

I will have to agree with you. I have hunted and hunted and can not find that listed for this year. I also saw their student tickets are 10 dollars but can not find info about non IU students. I will keep looking.

Do you remember where non-IU students were able to sit if they got this deal? I"m going to say they probably weren't able to sit over in that corner of the stadium with the rest of the Sycamore fans?
