Wichita's Ugly Marriage (AAC)

Everybody keeps leaving them, as the list grows on. You just hate to see it .

Schools that left:
UConn- Big East
Cincy- Big 12
Houston- Big 12
UCF- Big 12
SMU- ACC

Schools that remain:
Memphis- they want out
Tulsa
Temple
Tulane
ECU
USF

Schools they've added:
UAB
FAU
Charlotte
N Texas
Rice
UTSA

I can't imagine this is the conference they dreamed of joining. Hoping after the MWC likely adds Oregon State and Wazzu that they're in a position to raid Tulsa and Memphis in a few years when they get a new media deal.

They were king of the castle in a basketball-only conference and thought the grass was greener. It wasn't.

Yep, if they ever wanted to come back, they'd have to forgo NCAA tournament units for a predetermined amount of time.

Why? So they can have a tremendous advantage and go undefeated at our expense? We were the stepping-stone for WSU, Creighton and Loyola. Meanwhile, they did not bring extra bids to the conference. I don't get why we'd want any of those schools back unless it's Stockholm Syndrome.

I personally love the "post WSU MVC" a lot more than when they were around. Just a lot more balanced against similar like minded schools. Yeah their presence in St. Louis was awesome and the national brand they created here was great for the MVC. But long term I'm glad they are gone; it's also a nice bonus to see it getting a little rocky in Kansas.
