Wow! Great win for the women today over preseason favorite Illinois State. Final score was 72-65!

ISU now 3-0 in MVC play and tied with Bradley for 1st place.

Luna led ISU with 25 points, Jarrett with 16, and Mattox with 12, Thomas with 11 rebounds.

This is a great win in front of a large crowd for ISU. The ISU freshman are REALLY stepping up. Good things ahead for this program!

Great Day at Hulman Center

I thought that the ISU Blue vs. ISU Red women's game was one of the best five games played in Hulman Center in the past five years. Excellent game plan and tremendous effort. Freshmen who have been given the opportunity to gain game experience are maturing rapidly. Shannon Thomas had a "Coming Out Party" (with 11 rebounds) and Bianca Jarrett is letting the game come to her. What additional dimensions that pair adds off the bench! The starters played well and Luna was Luna. She is an absolute treat to watch.

The men's game also was extremely entertaining. The coaching staff and the great crowd pushed the right buttons to get the team motivated to give a great effort. The injury to Harry Marshall could be devastating. Hope not. As erratic as he can be when he decides he has to put the team's fortunes on his back, the Sycamores are much better when he is available.

Some of the newcomers are finding confidence. Richard and Printy, in particular, played "a level above," at least before the home crowd. I hope Josh Crawford gets the chance to restore some of the confidence he seems to have lost.

It was a great day at Human Center.

Luna was outstanding. Her hustle and team leadership are wonderful. Schilli is a workhorse and her place on the team is so important.
