Title pretty much says it all. I know we have quite a few young prospects, but with the graduates we've lost from this past year, we're going to be really thin and inexperienced along the offensive line. We also lost our snapper from last year so we're going to be inexperienced there as well.

Below is how our offensive line depth chart breaks down. The guys in bold started at least one game for the Sycamores in 2012. Conversely, they are also the only returning linemen that played at all last year based on the participating reports -- just 5 of the 13. Lots of opportunity for the guys on the list so let's hope they're taking their offseason and Summer work very seriously.

Seniors
63 Ignont, Clyde
57 Norberg, Olle
59 Lutz III, FN

Juniors
78 Estep, Evan
67 Goebel, Evan
64 Masters, Adam
69 Patrick, Paul

Sophomores
74 Rice, Nick
71 Ferguson, Alex

Redshirt Freshman
75 Dachota, Nick
61 Schuster, Nate
66 Timmons, Jack
70 Vermillion, Dakota

In fairness to Coach Sanford, we might have to adjust our expectations for a year or so. While Miles didn't leave the cupboard bare, he left it quite a bit less stocked than we might have wanted to believe. It might be hard for Sanford to get in on some of the higher quality recruits this late. Miles went after a bunch of kids who are turning out to be lower division prospects, and so Sanford started out a bit behind the eight ball. Will be very interesting to see how he fills out this class...

I think your first O line will be pretty good. LT Patrick, LG Rice, C Lutz, RG Masters, RT Vermilion. Barring any injuries or significant transfers. Depth is certainly unknown.

Vermilion over Dachota?

Dachota was the "coup" of his recruiting class per Miles if I remember right. They thought he was going to be a 3-4 year starter.

I rememberr hearing or reading somewhere last year, Miles mentioning that Vermillion was in the running as a potential starter/2nd string until he redshirted.

Wasn't Ferguson highly thought of coming out of high school to?

It's possible of course but as of today Vermilion is the guy. Info is a month old. New staff... more time for the young bucks to grow...who knows.

The line has to transition to the new offense as well. Might play a factor in who starts, who doesn't.
