...all this "Twitter" stuff? I keep seeing these Twitter messages, and I have to wonder - what's the point? Granted, I'm not up on all this stuff, heck, I still have trouble texting my kid. But Twitter seems especially pointless.:krazy: Someone please explain to me what I'm missing...

Thanks!!!

You're not missing anything. I just have them syndicated here so folks can see what McKenna and Wiedie are saying without having to sign up for an account. Honestly, I don't care for Twitter but do use it to advertise for the site, which is what most people use it for.

That said, some folks do drop some good nuggets on there. I do read a couple players and agents pages and sometimes it's interesting to see what they have to say. But really, it's just all about self promotion.

So it really is like that Verizon commercial where the dad is Twittering, "I am sitting on the porch..."

I don't mind reading the stuff from the coaches, I just figured there had to be a real gem of a reason for this that I didn't know about.

Don't these people (not the coaches, but people like the dad on that commercial) have anything better to do with their time? Seems pointless to me...:krazy:

I like that Jason's Twitter account is sync'd to this site....I don't have a desire to have a Twitter account of my own, but I like to see what the coaches are saying....when it's not "Had a ham sandwich at George's Cafe today".

So far McKenna (and Wiedie) have Tweeted some nice updates...about preseason training, the upcoming NIT, etc.

Coaches do it because other coaches do it.....period. It's overkill and really comes down to two words: Ego and self-absorption.

I think it is more to be able to keep what is going on w/ the team, etc..... Coaches can't text recruits like they could in the past so this is a way to alert potential players what is going on.

Doc Sadler (coach of Nebraska hoops) likes to talk about food alot in his twitter messages...specifically peaches. He also gives a song of the day quite often...which prompted me to put a song of the day in some of my posts on the CU site. :) His songs are for the most part 70's songs and I always pick really sappy ones...

Thank you for making my point about Twitter. It just seems so pointless...:krazy:
