Let's pretend for a moment that there's no financial ramifications if Lansing is fired.

And let's look at the worst case scenario...we lose to Bradley on Sunday and we lose on Thursday in the MVC tourney.

So, hypothetically, we finish 13-18 overall and 7-11 in the conference...and firing Lansing has no financial ramifications...would you fire him at the end of this season, and hire a new head coach for the 2016-2017 season.

Yes or No?

For the record, I voted No.

i would vote no based on performance. Id evaluate the same after next year based on the direction then.

I voted no, right now.
We lost Bell, we have one position that is non-productive and one position that is partially productive. The team has been carried by guards. If our 3's aren't falling, we're sunk. Inexperienced inside and our forwards almost never score inside. This team is very short on shooters and the shooters have been off.
We split with everyone but SIU and WSU and beat Drake twice. We lost two road games in OT.

Its becoming more and more apperant to me that Jake Odum made Lansing look good (and I thought Jake was a hell of a player during his years here) and if we didnt win that MVC tourney, how would those next 3 years turned out?

I dont know if id fire Lansing, but im not gonna be upset if he leaves on his own terms at the end of the year either.

Yup, from what ive seen on the court we have 6-7 (including Kessinger & knight) players coming back that can compete at this level. We defenitily need to clean some house.

At this late date who do you think can be recruited that would be a improvement over what we have? Do you look for frosh or JUCO?

I wouldn't fire him....but I'd have that, "Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results" speech. We've done nothing different on offense or defense during this stretch of awful basketball. Same weave out front....same motion offense...same ball movement.....same man to man defense....same player rotations.

Hell....if it were me....I'd start Rickman and play man defense for 10 minutes....enough to take some wind out of the opposing team....then I'd play zone for the rest of the game. Everybody knows it's tougher to hit 3s when you have tired legs.

We need "Men" who can play NOW......."ready to go" JUCO's
for a quick turnaround. Continue bringing in high school players that can be red-shirted and be coached to marked improvement during the red-shirt year. Where ISU stands as far as bringing in frosh ready to play now is too far down the totem pole to be relevant for the current roster.

Serious question, but how do you think they buy most of the things the program uses? It comes from donations from random alumni that makes donations. Most people here are alumni. Ergo its the same god-damned thing.

I thought he was implying that it is the responsibility of the Foundation to raise that money, and that it's sad that a message board has to do the Foundation's job for them. That's how I read it. And on that point, I agree. The Foundation is worthless...

Sad that you have to rely on random ppl on a message board to buy equipment for the team.

Who do you think is paying for their equipment? Do you think the school receives that much taxpayer money that they should have enough left over to buy all the equipment they want, buyout the coach's contract and hire a new coach everyone else wants. They don't even have enough to dream about doing one of those things.
