The Varsity Level
Well I have been around the block a few times and sometimes the view stays the same but the buildings on the inside change. My point to this is I can read the righting on the wall. I was waiting for someone else to bring it up but no one has.

We offer a juco a schollie and he comes for a visit. We have an opening for a one year spot but the young man that comes for a visit has three years left to play. I do the math, count the scholarships and things don't add up. The only way we have the room is if we are losing a schollie with two years left.

So, who is it? JO, RJ, SM? The coaching staff must know. Hmmmm, hard one to figure out. We will lose some quality minutes if any of those three leave. My guess and only a guess no real proof is SM. His position is full and unless he is going to run the point he loses minutes to someone.

If there is anyone in the factual reality let us know what's up cause something happening.

Roster prediction

Well, I can only read between the lines and say that my prediction was correct. We are going to have a very different look if SM is moving on. I can see Mr Octeus getting major minutes. He will be an integral part of the Sycamores and make an imediate impact. I hope he realizes this and comes and rides the blue tide.

Cut or left on their own, it's not good. Yes, it happens sometimes. But this would be two scholarship players leaving in one year.

It happens everywhere. I don't consider KD as leaving. He had been here 4 yrs and I think someone said he had graduated.
It's not good for the continuity of the program, but sometimes it's better when someone that isn't happy leaves.

I only qualified it as "cut" because you or someone said something about a plan. You can't plan when players leave on their own free will.
 
My only concern is whether or not Lansing has chiseled his "No Ganja" ethos into the hearts of the remaining & forthcoming squad. There is no doubt in MY mind that last season's "topsy turvy" on-court performances were influenced by the use of ganja. I won't highlight suspects, but look at the up & down #'s of a few of our graduating seniors over their ISU careers. 'Nuff said...

I think theBears might have had some of the same self medicating as well.
 
When players do the wrong thing several times they should be kicked of the team. ESPN had a article yesterday about smoking pot and how it is taking over college athletics. They are now smoking pot instead of drinking beer. If that is what this player did then he should be off the team. Coach Lansing is making some tough decisions and it will work out better in the end for the team. Some of you guys have no clue what happens behind those locker room doors with this team. Just stay positive and it will all work out in the end. Being in college athletics is not easy. We are taking about 18-22 year old kids. They make mistakes, but they also deserve the punishment.

go start your own thread. this topic is about scholarships and what positions need to be filled and who will be on the roster next year.
 
So as of now we have:

Arop, Bell, Brown, Burnett, Eitel, Gant, Jarvis, Kitchell, Mahurin, McWhorter, Odum, Samuels, K. Smith and R. Smith and a one year scholarship available. It's hard to figure the starters since we have alot of minutes to replace. I bet the competion for playing time will be intense. The trip overseas should help this group a ton. Earn your minutes boys. The hard work pays off. Ask Bird, Magic, MJ, Koby they all put in the work for the ring.

I've got your "thread"....now STICK IT where the sun doesn't shine! What an asshole..typical "kitty litter" approach to an issue @ ISU that needs to be properly addressed and which impacts SCHOLARSHIPS.

McWhorter...lost his SCHOLARSHIP as a result of TWICE violating the team's anti-ganja rule...strong rumor has it that ISU had multiple one-time offenders this PAST season. Time to nip this issue in the bud before it destroys ANOTHER promising ISU season. Fridae's approach to FREE drug counseling is a proactive step addressing the issue. Give Me Heart's "sweep it under the rug" doctrine is ludicrous.

Sweep what under the rug.

I had no information telling me that anyone on the team was disaplined because of rule violations. I had just surmised because of the scholarships available and the recruits being asked to visit that we were losing a player beside Koang. You came in here ranting of drug use on a thread that I started. If this is the case and you are correct, then; you have information that the majority of us frequenting this site don't have. I wasn't sweeping anything under the rug. I am looking at the roster and how it needs to be filled. That was my intent when I started this thread. Who's on the roster and what do we need.

You sir can take your strong rumor and stick it under a flower pot where it can look like a bouquet. If you know so much and are willing to air it on this site, give us a list of all the team rule violators so we all know what's up,, but; do me a favor and start your own thread when doing it. This one was( at least till you butchered it) about filling what was precieved to be a roster spot that could be open.
