Think Frisco is disappointed that NDSU didn't make it again this year?

My money is on JMU, they looked great against North Dakota State. The score (in my opinion) was a lot closer than the game. JMU had several big plays that got called back by penalties and a few missed field goals I believe.

Will be rooting for Youngstown State, but will be really surprised if they pull it off.

did you see that Youngstown was afraid they couldnt sell theirs so they sent back 3k and only offered tix to the people that gave 5k or more. JMU took the 3000 left over and sold those in an hour

But Pelini delivered and brought YSU back to the promiseland, or something like that. Guess their fan base isn't what it once was, if it ever was.

the latest info about it ive read was that the school had to commit to X number of tickets after the 2nd round game so they didnt want to be stuck with tickets. that seems like a weird reason even if they didnt think they could make it to the NC game.

Initially, I was shocked that YS would send back that many tickets but then a couple things occurred to me. First of all, like Terre Haute, I am very familiar with Youngstown because it was a former steel town like my home town in Pennsylvania and it mirrors the economy there. The economy REALLY sucks. It is as blue-collar town as there is and last minute air reservations to Dallas would cost a fortune and most in the area simply can't afford it (and it is an 18-hour drive as well). Secondly, they weren't expecting to be anywhere near a final game and likely thought it would never happen and could not have planned for it.

More importantly, James Madison U. alumni and students have a considerably higher wealth to work with. It's a beautiful university in a beautiful and well-off state and their demographics are light years higher than YS. Nothing insulting about that, it's just the truth.

Last but not least, how many of you truly believe that if ISU was in the finals in Dallas, that we would not have the same dilemma that faced Youngstown State authorities. It's a 12-hour drive to Frisco from Terredice and we can't get a 1000 to go to St. Louis 4-5 hours away. I'll be watching the game and rooting them on whether they sell 1000 or 4000 tickets.

I was shooting the crap with a fan from NDSU a few years ago asking how their trip was and stuff while in line for a drink (we had time to basically become best friends). I asked how long the drive was and he said they actually chartered a jet straight into TH. He said that it only cost about $500 per person to do that. has anyone else ever flown private like that. that would be a cool way to go to a couple of these places.

Well stated and very true.
