Anybody know why Jordan Printy didn't get some minutes?

As mentioned, thank goodness for exhibition games. Hopefully, Coach can get some of the kinks worked out before Sunday's game.
According to the Trib Star, he's being redshirted along with Keenan Barlow.

It was an interesting game to say the least. The press is in no way effective because we all collapse to the paint and do not find the shooters. They probably had 15-18 points from 3 fron not fighting over pics and or ball scrables off the break. We fouled way to much, and often late in the shot clock. In his post game radio interview, coach said that he was pleased with Carter and Martin. Carter is going to be a fun player to watch and Martin is farther along than I thought. Coach said they have a lot of wowrk to do on defense, and they will be doing rebounding drills tomorrow unitl the cows come home. Other than Carter and Gabe early, we really struggled from the outside. It was nice to have balance scoring with several guys in double figures. Just a short take about what I saw.

Coach said in the post-game that tomorrow's practice would focus primarily if not solely on rebounding. Also said needed to define defensive assignments better as there was too much help defense and losing your man for an open three in the process. Also was not happy with the press and called it off much of the second half.

Fact: You will like Aaron Carter.................he is a player & Isiah Martin and Lamar Lee are not going to disappoint much either.

Did anyone attend the game this evening and take an digital photos that we could use? If so, drop me a PM.

Attended the game of course but silly me forgot the camera as we was in a rush anyways. Ugly, ugly game but with this many new players and new system it was what you get in your first real game. I'll highlite a few things that stood out to me.

1. Aaron Carter: This kid is going to be something special by the time he leaves Terre Haute. Just watching him on the court you would think he's a senior. He has the leadership, talent and hustle to a very good player at State. He gets the game ball.

2. Jay Tunnell: Great game from Jay tonite. He looks alot more comfortable in this system and outside of fould trouble was outstanding although the rebounding needs to improve.

3. Isiah Martin: Talk about bringing some energy to the court. You just get the feel he's going to make a huge dunk or swat a ball about 5 rows up every trip down the court. Needs to bulk up and not fall for every head fake however. He's still a project but the upside is amazing on this kid.

4. 3PT. Shooting: Outside of Carter no one seemed to have much touch last nite. Cole & Rico passed up several wide open looks in the motion offense. I still like my chances if those two have a open look from outside.

5. Press: If we are going to press teams we need to improve here more than any aspect of the game. The press looked as if we had never done it before.

6. Students: I was actualy surprised by the student turnout last nite. Very good showing although noise wise they was a non factor. BRING THE NOISE kids!!!!!

7. Rebounding: As mentioned I'm sure that's all they'll be doing today!

8. DePauw's #22: This kid looked about 5-1 but tore us up all nite. Would have liked to see Gabe take him to the basket or post up on him more.

I'm sure I'm forgeting alot but I'm in the middle of doing about 10 things right now..lol

Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw led throughout much of its exhibition game at Indiana State, but the Division I Sycamores broke a 66-66 tie with 11 straight points in the closing minute on the way to a 77-68 victory over the Tigers.
Indiana State took an early 11-2 lead, but the Tigers came back with a 14-1 run to gain a 16-12 advantage. That lead reached as many as 12 at 27-15 before DePauw went to the break with a 37-31 lead.

The Tigers still led by four at 49-45 before the Sycamores scored four straight to knot the score at 49-49.

Mike Moore's three with just under three minutes left gave the Tigers a 64-63 lead, but Aaron Carter knocked down a trey with 1:47 left to put the Sycamores ahead 66-64. Steve Lemaster's two free throws with 1:32 left tied the score at 66-66, but Adam Arnold's three-point play with 1:04 left ignited an 11-0 Indiana State run.

"We did a great job tonight, early, of making adjustments and not letting the pressure get to us," DePauw head coach Bill Fenlon said.

Stephen Schott led the Tigers with 19, while Ryan Werntz added 14. Moore followed with 13, while Lemasters added 11. Brian Oilar grabbed 11 rebounds as DePauw held a 38-32 advantage on the boards.

Carter paced the Sycamores with 16 followed by Arnold with 12. Gabe Moore and Jay Tunnell each scored 10 and Arnold grabbed nine rebounds.

DePauw opens the regular season on November 16 when it takes on Illinois Institute of Technology in Manchester's Tipoff Tournament.

I made the drive down from Lafayette to get a look at the Sycamores for the upcoming season and I must say I was quite underwhelmed. I fully expect us to finish in the top half of the league this season but from what I saw last night we are no better than last year. Stinson was a non factor. Moore didn't show much, made a couple of nice cuts to the basket but needs to finish. Tunnell should have dominated a much smaller DePauw team but didn't. Arnold is very scrapy but too small to be a 4 in The Valley. Did Yelovich even see the floor? I think he is going to have to play some key minutes because the Leitnaker kid isn't going to contribute until his senior season. Martin and Carter will be good in the next couple years. It's kind of sad when two frosh are the best players on the floor. If I had to pick a depth chart as of right now I would say as follows......

Starters
C- Mick Yelovich, 6-10, Sr.
F- Jay Tunnell, 6-8, Jr.
F- Adam Arnold, 6-6, Jr.
G- Marico Stinson, 6-3, So.
G- Gabe Moore, 6-1, Sr.

First off the bench
G- Cole Holmstrom, 5-10, So.
F- Isiah Martin, 6-8, 6-8. Fr.
G- Harry Marshall, 6-0, So.
G/F- Todd McCoy, 6-4, Sr.
F/G- Aaron Carter, 6-4, Fr.
G- Lamar Lee, 6-0, Fr.
C- Brant Leitnaker, 6-10, So.

Redshirt
F- Keenan Barlow, 6-5, Fr.
G- Jordan Printy,6-4, Fr.

I think you saw who the starters were going to be last night. Cole did not have the outside shot going, but still founda way to make a few buckets inside. I would be shocked if the starters were not the same. This would be my depth chart as of now.

F-C Jay Tunnell
F Adam Arnold
F Aaron Carter
G Cole Holmstrom
G Gabe Moore

Bench (in order)
G Harry Marshall
G Marico Stinson
C Mick Yelovich
F Isiah Martin
G Lamar Lee
F Todd McCoy
C Brant Lietnaker

If Carter starts as a freshman over Stinson, McCoy and Marshall that would be something.
