Unfortunately little brother has given oral to Purdue. PU is collecting a lot of "all-star" players.......all of them can't start & some of them will be gone after one season ...............surely none of them have been told that have they?

At this point, I have no idea how Painter has any scholarships left. It seems like he's offered just about everyone in the state. However, since it's just a verbal, there is still room for Barlow to change his mind.

That would be great! It just happened to Wichita St. this past spring. The kid went to Illinois St. He ought to have fun at Koch when he gets there. Although it doesn't happen that much.

Prized Indy prep guard picks Purdue

Posted: September 13, 2007

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Indianapolis Cathedral guard Kelsey Barlow has become the second player to give a verbal commitment for Purdue's 2009 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-5 junior impressed Purdue coach Matt Painter, despite playing only 12 minutes a game as a sophomore. The son of former Cathedral and Notre Dame star Ken Barlow passed up offers from Xavier, Southern Illinois, Bradley and Indiana State.

Barlow said he was impressed with the highly touted group of players joining Purdue's team this season -- E'Twaun Moore, Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson and Scott Martin.

"When coach Painter signed that class, I didn't want to go anyplace else," he said. "I wanted to make my decision now."

North Montgomery's D.J. Byrd, a 6-4 forward, also have committed to the Boilermakers for 2009. He averaged 17.8 points and 6.7 rebounds as a sophomore.

I saw that somebody asked if Kelsey was a relation of the guy that played at ND and then in the Pros. I believe that is Kelsey and Keenan's father.

Kicked off of the Purdue team after his off-the-court incidents. Will be interesting to see where he may land if he leaves Purdue. Believe he has one more year of eligibility left.
