Rumored to be visiting Indiana State soon. Has one offer thus far, from Boise State. Is also said to be growing still and is listed on some sites as 6-8. He was 6-foot-3 as a sophomore.

Prep school is becoming more and more of a common thing. It's a good thing for mid-majors as it seems these kids get a free redshirt year though I am still interested to see how Khristian smiths game transfers.

Why is prep school becoming more common?

Advantages / Disadvantages?

As a kid can (and does) change schools, wouldn't it be better to have that kid on campus wearing a gray-shirt?

4Q I am just saying that pre these past few years I rarely saw bball players at this level take that extra year.

I'm agreeing with you --- I'm curious as WHY kids are now opting for Prep School INSTEAD of enrolling as a gray-shirt.

Kristian Smith is a perfect example. He commited to Cincinnati, he went to prep school, he 'opened up' his recruitment and we got him.

Why didn't Cincinnati enroll him and have him on-campus, close to the program?

It worked out for us but what happens when it doesn't work out for us?

I understand that sometimes (usually) it is because of grades but it seems like you know have players opting for prep school rather than enrolling and getting a leg up on classes, college acclimation, etc.
