February, 2010: Springs is an athletic wing that has a nice mid range jumper off the catch. He is very active and runs the floor on a consistent basis. Springs can handle and pass the ball pretty well on the move. He is constantly attempting to make things happen. He rebounds on both ends and is very quick to the ball. I love his non stop motor. Springs is strong and can defend all three perimeter positions. You never have to look for springs because he always has your attention when he is on the floor. Springs is a great glue guy and does what ever it takes to help his team be successful. A treat to watch compete.
Per ESPN.

be nice to 'steal' him from ISU-M and the B10 schools

Tenn St is 'burdoned' by OVC play

Jason - that link you have listed is no longer working. And looking at espn.com today they have Akeem considering Indiana State. We are the only school listed as consideration.

Us beating Morehead State (OVC school) in the bracketbuster could bode well for us in the recruiting of Akeem.

Akeem Springs was also outstanding for the Rising Stars Gold in the NLP game and had a stellar weekend. He may arguably be the one Illinois Class of 2012 prospect that has improved the most from last season to this point. Springs has very strong legs and great elevation on his jump shot, and his consistency and range have improved immensely. In addition, he is very athletic and attacks the basket, and his open floor ball-handling has improved as well. Springs needs to be more consistent defensively and improve his shot selection at times, but in our opinion he is a solid mid-major player. He de-committed from Tennessee State after committing to them very early in his junior year.
