You can't teach 6-6, 285

And they could get bigger. You can coach'em up. This was the game plan that former Sycamores coach Dennis Raetz followed. Get big kids and coach'em up.

What's nice is we have a really great pipeline of guys who have huge frames and will be around for three more seasons. Basically I'm talking about the '10,'11,and '12 recruiting classes who have or will have benefited from being able to redshift. Just imagine how good this program can be when we finally get to a true fifth year senior class in 2014.

Indiana State was Timmons' first choice all along.

"He is so excited, his feet haven't touched the floor all week," Frauhiger said.

Timmons will join Harrison graduate FN Lutz on the Sycamores offensive line. Lutz started at center last season for the Missouri Valley Conference team.

Lutz hosted Timmons on his official visit to the Terre Haute campus.

"I actually got hold of him very early on in the recruiting process," Timmons said. "He was a great help."

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Timmons will move from tackle to guard for the Sycamores, who finished 6-5 this year for the second consecutive season.

It was ISU's first back-to-back winning seasons since 1995-96.

"Their program is definitely going in the right direction, and it was also somewhere I felt wanted," Timmons said.

Timmons chose the Sycamores over Findlay, Manchester and Carthage. As a senior, Timmons gave up just three sacks.
