'12 IN PG D.J. Balentine (Evansville Verbal)

WANTED: Passionate Sycamore Fanatics. That You?

Of all the guys left on the board, DJ is the kid I'd like to have. He will be a very good offensive player in the MVC IMO. He also has a killer mentality and doesn't shy away from good competition. I watched him absolutely put it on Indiana commit Ron Patterson this Summer.

I know he is a major target for Coach Lusk. They seem to have a good relationship from his days at Purdue. I really don't wanna see him play for the Sycs that's the last thing I want you guys to have is a pg that can score outside.

You mean like Odum and McWhorter? I'll bet JO is working on his 3.

I'm kidding, though, I know what you mean.

Odum is a great player but as an opposing fan I don't mind watching him shoot outside. Not really a threat from outside, off the dribble though he makes me a little nervous. I am interested in seeing how teams plan for him this year and how he handles the adjustment.

Honestly, if I had to pick someone from the Valley that he reminds me of, it's Adam Leonard. I know Indiana State was out to see him quite a few times during the AAU season. I think he's a lot like Marcus Marshall, too.

I cam see that a little. I think he handles the ball better then Adam, and Adam worked really we off screens but they both can shoot and look a little undervalued on the defensive end. Marcus was brought in to play the 2 for us and they say they want DJ on the point.

Per Indy Star's Kyle Neddenriep, DJ will be on his official to Indiana State on September 10-11. He took an OV to Wright State last month, is doing Evansville this weekend and then will also do Missouri State on September 23-24.

I saw both Harris and Balentine multiple times this summer and I'd take DJ every day of the week. Harris may be a more true point and possibly a better defender but DJ is well rounded and a clutch scorer.

In the head-to-head game I saw, Balentine torced Harris and his Indiana Elite squad for like 25 points. That team also included Indiana commits Yogi Ferrell and Ron Patterson.

Balentine is @ Evansville visiting per his Twitter.Checking out the new Arena.Hope he doesn't get too turned on by that!

It's a good time to be a Sycamore! Always best to hang with a winner and the Sycamores look to contend for the next few years at least.
