This is no knock on Clemons because he's a player I think we really could use/need, but I no longer will pay any attention to JUCO stats. Tre' Bennett shot nearly 50% from three while he was a JUCO player...the stats just don't translate that well.

What I see with Clemons, though, is a guy that appears to do it all. He can score a little, rebounds fairly well for his position and has a great assist-to-turnover ratio. What his stats look like in an ISU uniform will no-doubt differ, but at least we know he's a guy that does a little bit of everything.

Well, Tre did shoot .435 in the conference, so that is by no means a disappointment.
I wouldn't expect the same or better stats, but, like you said, it is an indication of his skills and what he can do for us.

Any time you get almost 8 a/g, I would say you can pass.

just saw that too, great news!

@JucoRecruiting: 2015 Vincennes' guard Everett Clemons has committed to Indiana State

Solid add for us. A true point guard that is a devonte type defender, meaning he is physical and can guard both ones and twos. Love that he has a football background too

alright! Not only a great addition in itself, but also makes Brown and Scott better because they don't have to play out of position at point.

Not that the starting line up defines the game but it will be interesting to see how it plays out. If we start a three guard rotation with EC, DB and BS, our starting 4 would be KS. Otherwise we go a little bigger with KS at the 3 and have DB still starting at the point or BS as the sixth man. Competition and having several options is never a bad thing though and should only make the team better. Plus it's nice to see some quality depth.

Welcome to the Forest, Everett!!

What ever rotation, Van Scyoc will be a starter. We need all players who can, play, and play hard, and competition only hurts the players who can't play. Great addition if he's a point guard that doesn't turn the ball over and play defense. Go trees.

Seems like a quality pick-up for us. We needed a true pg in the worst way last season. Welcome Everett!

Well done, Lansing and staff! We needed Everett badly and we got our guy. At a minimum I think we found a more than suitable replacement for Tre'. Anything beyond that would be awesome.
