2011 Opponent Preview: Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

What's amazing to me is that 20 years ago (or thereabouts) WKU football was in pretty bad shape. I've been told that they were close to dropping the sport. Then, they decided to invest in the program, got a great coach, and the rest is history. Now, I honestly don't want to jump to FBS, but they are proof that a comeback like ours does happen, there's no reason we can't become an FCS powerhouse. It's really a good story...

Their saving grace had a lot to do with the Harbaugh family; the old man was coaching but it wasn't until 49ers coach Jim started working as an ass't (for free/$ 1.00) and Ravens coach John started feeding Jim recruiting info AND recruits while at UCinn that the program made headway.
