Sycamore Watch 2017:

So far, no movement on ISU's end.

And this has been Sycamore Watch 2017.

Would be interesting if true. I mentioned him last year when the Lansing leaving rumors were going around.

Lansing has had time to evaluate and meet with his players by now. SURELY they know who is returning and who is not. They need to resolve this soon so new offers can be made. We need players who can score and rebound.

Another Bradley Brave on the move. Wardle has no shame in his game over there in Peoria.

Strange that we haven't heard about anybody leaving yet. Unless we're waiting to see if we get a cit or cbi invite.

Obviously this stuff comes out at varying times but often times our transfers haven't become public knowledge until late March.

They certainly know what they are doing, but I wouldn't cut anyone until I was certain I could sign a good replacement. I'm sure CL knows who is expendable at this point, but he has to be careful. Sometimes, the 11-13 players become important when there are transfers, injuries, or they improve.

He's got to walk-ons that give him some flexibility and are plenty capable. Franklin and Demonte are likely gone regardless of us signing anyone or not. I tend to agree with you if we didn't have 2 quality walk-ons but we have those guys so we should be fine no matter what.

Do you have inside info on that, or just a best guess?

No insider yet and haven't been really looking for any. Looking at our record last season, our past off-seasons and our coaches actively recruiting still I think it's pretty fair to assume and I think those 2 are probably the most likely. I wouldn't rule out 1 or 2 more possibilities.

Are you going on just talent or including the "effort" to blend in with the team goals? Based on talent, I would cut Knight before Franklin, but there is something I like about how Knight played as a role player when he played. I think Franklin could develop into a scorer with his quickness and shooting ability.

And how "quality" are the walk-ons as D1 players?

I haven't seen enough from either walk-on to say for certain. From what little I've seen and heard they are more than capable. Lansing didn't use them last year for a reason. I don't think he wanted to waste a year of potential eligibility on them with the season going the way it was. I think they could have both seen minutes this season ahead of some of the players mentioned above.

One of the few times I actually agree with your thought. I can also see the possibility of another one or two leaving that he might prefer not to lose.
