Also, what’s going on at Belmont. Down 11 to ILST
What the heck got into Bradley Saturday nite??? 18-31 from 3? Dang! I watched it a couple days ago and didn't realize they made that many. That was impressive.
Shepard and Jerace Walker are starting to get rotation minutes. When a guy or 2 are out they're IN in the rotation. They both look really good. Prime example of what reps will yield, even if they're G-league reps. Now Carlisle has 2 more guys he can trust for the 2nd half of the season.Former around the Valley. This clip was too damn good to pass up sharing:
You have to produce and that’s the bottom line. The bench is barely producing outside of Jabo. Carlisle’s situation has nothing to do with Schertz??? I mean it’s pretty simple for the future. Learn the system, practice hard, and then produce when your number is called. They do that the rotation gets expanded a little but I can tell you Schertz is only going 8 deep at most. He believes in guys getting a rhythm in basketball which is why our starting 5 play a lot of minutes.Shepard and Jerace Walker are starting to get rotation minutes. Bringing it home.....if Carlisle can go 10 deep then so can Schertz. It'll be interesting to see, in future years under Schertz (hopefully), how deep he goes in his rotation. It’s easy to say you are only gonna play 6-7 guys when that's all you have than you can really trust. But what happens in the future as our recruiting profile continues to rise (like our recruits for next year) and he has more guys who he trusts/have earned minutes based on practice? Will he expand his rotation?
Like I asked the first time, what happens when he has more guys who he trusts/have earned minutes based on practice? My whole question was based on the future when we have more talent, not now. And I said that. I mentioned Carlisle b/c the clip was of Ben Shepard who plays for the Pacers, who are coached by Carlisle, who has a deep bench. You have to produce and that’s the bottom line. Idk if you been reading other posts but this has been discussed on another thread. You are only taking into account practice. There's other factors. Not all things are created equal. Freshman usually don't play at our level their first year. There's obviously exceptions but for the most part that means you would be in a rebuild, example Valpo. You would have really good upperclassman in front anyways if you are really good. Other factors you have to consider are they physically ready to play and are they mentally ready to play. So use next season for example, none of the freshman are going to be contributing heavily next season. We lose Bledson and Wolfe (That we know of) so their minutes will be fought between Miller, Gray, Daughtry, and Eli. That's just the way it is and quite frankly for us as it should be. Pretty bad take IMO. You are comparing an NBA team to a mid-major college basketball that is fighting for their at-large lives. It's been proven on the court again and again are top 6 are REALLY REALLY good. Like head and shoulders above everyone else. Miller can give us good minutes if he hits a 3 or two. and then Wolfe and Gray just has the fanbase waiting for them to do something; i don't know if it's coming or not.Bringing it home.....if Carlisle can go 10 deep then so can Schertz. I get the dream. We have all type of talent coming in with Schertz. It's definitely exciting especially if that is leading to competing for multiple titles. It's not a knock on you. I was just personally pointing out to apply it to Schertz philosophy and that we were already having this discussion on another thread and others were asking why such and such doesn't play etc.I wasn't complaining about the rotation. I was fanticising about us having a loaded roster some day. Excuse the fuck out of me for being a dreamer. I'll stop doing so on this platform.
Boy wouldn't it be nice if Missouri State would find themselves for ONE game and knock off Drake tonight?!!!!!
That would make sense. I'm good with that scenario!!Probably is better for potential at-large chances if they don't, we beat them at Hulman and then Bradley finds a way to sweep them and we beat Bradley. Get those two high as possible, if not Q1.
