2024/2025 Women's Basketball

This is the 7th women’s coach two volleyball, two soccer and now the third women’s coach in a row to have title IX and or outside law enforcement brought in.

What happened with the last women's bball coach....that one was never explained.

This is in no way factual, but the rumors I heard was he was borderline having a nervous breakdown. Again, rumors, from students, so take it with a grain of salt.

Okay I've done some investigating into this whole situation and here is just what I've found out so far. I've talked to multiple season ticket holders, 4 different players parents and several players.

* On day 1 when Coach Mitchell meet the team for the first time this is what he told the girls. He came flat out and told them none of them would be here after the season was over. They were not "his players" and he didn't want them in his program.

* There have been 2 Title 9 complaints against him. One of them was for sexual harassment.
* None of the players were allowed to talk to recruits when they visited.
* Almost EVERY single player and parent has went to Nathan Christensen and Mike Godard and there has been no action.
* At least one starter was told by Coach Mitchell that he would contact any possible team she was interested in transferring to and put in a bad word about her.

Again, this is just their words, and I have no way of verifying any of it officially except for what I was told by several players and parents. Whatever is the issue there is clearly something going on here within this program. I was also told by one player that the team didn't care wither they won or lost because they were hoping a bad season would get the Coach fired. Now like others I HATE hearing this from ANY player regardless of the situation.

I figured when the ENTIRE TEAM hit the portal that there would be something deeper to this. Hopefully they investigate it and take appropiate action.
