Alabama saw Auburn turn into a legit national contender under Pearl and decided they had to get serious about hoops too. You either become the next Duke-UNC or the next Duke-Wake Forest.

I saw one of those seeding probability charts and this is the most likely scenario currently for the tournament. I kind of doubt any of the Thursday teams make it past Friday, but any of the top 4 teams could win it. UIC has now lost 4 straight since they thumped Bradley, so I'm not sure what's going on with them.

This is the exact opposite of what probably will happen. Honestly, there isn't a match-up in this league that the underdog doesn't have a punchers chance on any night. Missouri State vs Drake is the most lopsided game on paper and they went to OT already.

In all honesty Bradley is the only team that could "run away" with it in STL. If they are playing at a high level and their 3 balls are fallen i don't think anyone catches them, but that's asking a lot of a team that has sputtered this season. But outside of that every game is going to be a dog fight

If UIC, Murray, & siu lose this weekend, then we're looking at 5-way tie for 5th.

Due to a power outage affecting the entire Murray State campus, the Northern Iowa/Murray game was delayed from Sun to Mon and played at Belmonts arena in Nashville, where UNI was already scheduled to play Wednesday.

If the power can't be restored in time, Murray's Wednesday game against SIU will be moved to Carbondale

Not sure I understand all the negative feelings about Drake, UNI and Bradley. They are clearly the three best teams in the Valley, but Drake is the most consistent and versatile. UNI is very methodical and a tough out. Opponents know what UNI intends to do, but the challenge is to prevent it from doing that. Bradley has the most imposing physical talent, but shooting can be suspect and it is mercurial.

I watch a fair amount of Power 4 games in addition to the Valley and those three would be competitive with 90% of the Power 4 teams that will make the tournament. (I had Stanford hosting Cal on last night in an ACC matchup. It was super ugly, close but ugly.)

That UNI vs Drake game was better played than the vast majority of the games between the mediocre teams that will get at large bids again this year. For the Valley, it would be best if Drake won the tournament this year so what is marginally the best team in the MVC gets the bid. Last year, the best team lost the MVC tourney and the bid. The year before, Bradley just curled up and died in the Valley Tourney but it had the best talent.

Just looked up the NET, NIU is actually lower at 354 than every current Horizon League team (including Green Bay at 335).

I don't think they're going to waltz in and take the auto-bid next year

He is going to get a TON of suiters this offseason. On X i've noticed a lot of talk tying him to P4 jobs the last day or 2. Yeah it's internet slooths but typically there is fire when you see smoke on X

Well he should we coach of the year, he won’t. Being there for one year seems even more likely of him just stepping onto a bigger payday. Some fans may not like that their team will be last in offense tempo but hey you will win games!
