I think I saw where Evansville is playing them too. If the MVC adds UTA then I'll officially be like SSOM, where I just don't give an "s" about anyone else in the league.
I read on ExtraPoints that the MVC ADs told Matt Brown they aren't interested in adding anyone outside the footprint. So I think the UT Arlington thing is dead. I'm good with that. I really don't like the conference tournament starting Thursday at Noon anyway. How many people can actually make that game if their team is in it?

You can make a debate whether the conference tournament is a week early or not. But you can't debate the format/location is damn near perfect.

Not sure what time and what day you expect the tournament to start. If you are playing Thursday at noon, you deserve to play Thursday at noon.

I fully understand a 12-team league means you start Thursday at noon. If you have an 11-team league, you start at 2:30/3:30 Thursday instead. That’s a lot easier for people to make.

That’s why I prefer a conference tournament where the conference has 11 teams instead of 12. An added benefit of an 11-team league is no fan bases have to make that Thursday Noon game.

FTR, I agree the conference tournament format/location is perfect. I’m just saying the conference tournament for an 11-team league is superior to a conference tournament for a 12-team league.

Why? You’re starting at 3:30 on Thursday instead of Noon on Thursday. Noon on Thursday is hard for fan bases to make for obvious reasons.

There is zero chance the MVC HQ’s discussions about adding a 12th team consider a 2 1/2 hour earlier start time for the bottom teams of the basketball conference tournament.
