I watched the ESPN+ replay of the gave vs IU Indy. Lost 67-64, but trailed much of the game by increasing margins reaching 14 points at the end of the third period. 16 turnovers in the first half and both teams were really hard to watch. But in the 4th, ISU actually rallied and took the lead before falling to defeat. I don't know if the capability to play 4 quarters like the team played the 4th is in them, but it did evidence some ability.

The game tonight against EIU wasn’t perfect, but the team played well tonight and won every quarter, put up 90 points and played with great effort and much more under control than their first outing.
Good to see! I watched a little of it and definitely seems like there's some talent on their roster.

Western Kentucky enters Friday's game at 2-1 following an overtime win at home over Wichita State. The Lady Toppers' wins have come against Wichita State and Kentucky State, with their lone loss coming on the road at Longwood.

Jeniffer Silva paces the Lady Toppers with 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, with Torri James also scoring in double-figures at 10.7 points per game. WKU features seven players averaging at least six points per game this season, while three Lady Toppers average five boards per game. Tia Shelling adds 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game for the Lady Toppers, while Silva adds 2.3 blocks per game.

Greg Collins is in his eighth season as head coach at Western Kentucky and owns a 126-91 record at the helm of the Lady Toppers. Collins has led the Lady Toppers to a pair of WNIT appearances as head coach and has three 20-win seasons.

Series History Against Western Kentucky
Indiana State is 1-6 all-time against Western Kentucky, with the Lady Toppers winning each of the last six in the series. WKU won last year's season opener between the teams in Terre Haute, 71-59.

Indiana State's lone win in the series was an 80-69 victory in Bowling Green during the 1976-77 season.

This year's team isn't going to compete for the Valley or probably even the top half of The Valley but it has been a better season than last year. The girls 4 wins already has tied last year's win total in the BRUTAL 4-28 nightmare. Last year ISU was an amazing 1-11 inside the Hulman Center, this year 3-0.

I attended the NIU game. It was a tale of one quarter of excellence followed by 3 of losing basketball. Led 26-10 after one quarter, but NIU spent the rest of the evening melting away that lead. One key moment was the final seconds of the third quarter. NIU scores to cut the margin to 4, but the refs call a T on the NIU player who scored for taunting. ISU makes two FT's and then gets a bucket in the last 7 seconds that were remaining. The lead doubled to 8, but NIU overcame that in the 4th before ISU held on to win. The offense was very ineffective over the last three periods. NIU had lost to Evansville by about 15 earlier if that means anything.

Indiana State opens MVC play Wednesday night, as the Sycamores welcome Drake for a 7 p.m. tip inside Hulman Center.

Drake comes into our house tonight at 1-8 on the season. they have played a tough schedule with games vs the likes of Iowa, Iowa State and Arkansas. with that said they have also lost to the likes of Lindenwood, Western Illinois and just this past Saturday to Saint Thomas. They're lone win was at Eastern Illinois to start the season. They're currently on a 8 game skid. Very winnable game to start Valley play tonight. CAN"T drop this one!

You were saying??

ISU trailed 42-48 at the half. It was a very fast-paced game, obviously. Not many turnovers. ISU's shooting from the field was below 30%, but it was nearly perfect from the line and drew a lot of fouls. Drake was very fast-paced as well and went 10 deep, but shot the ball much better.

In the third period, Drake outscored ISU 34-12. They ran high-low dump passes (ISU defenders were consistently behind the low post player so the pass was easy and drop step layups numerous), pick & rolls from the high post, and dribble drive for a layup or replace kickouts time after time for wide open layups and threes. It was hard to believe Drake was 1-8.
