That’s a helluva pick up.

7 rebounds avg. per 20 minutes. Not going to crown this team champions or anything, but on paper I think we have 5x the talent we had last year. More athletic too.
That C pickup from Europe is still my favorite. He plays bully ball and only averaged 20 mins a game over there.
I'm excited to see how much better the team should be at rebounding, as u mentioned, more athletic & overall quite a bit taller. Not going to crown this team champions or anything, but on paper I think we have 5x the talent we had last year. More athletic too.
Rough one for our guy. I remember watching that and thinking how nice it'd be to have the D2 Natty at the Hulman Center....national championship game between Gannon and Lander
Your last sentence is one I have always said is the big gamble with European players. At the college level you will see a small handful like the group at Illinois this past year that was able to make the adaptation to college ball, but you have a bigger group that are brought into the college game that cannot adapt.7 rebounds avg. per 20 minutes.
Would love a 35% 3 pt. shooter at the 5 spot, but every season I'd gladly take someone like Alex (on paper): great rebounder, high 2 pt. % shooter, & positive free throw %.
He hasn't played a minute yet, but sure hope his game translates well to the MVC & D1.

I am not talking Europeans directly to pro play that is different from college, just European play to college/ MVC style.
IMO last year we had three European players that for the most part struggled to adapt their game to the MVC style of play.
The big boy coming in looks promising as his role is simple, around the rim scoring, rebounding, clean up messes and be our floor enforcer/beast. Anything more is icing on the cake.
Watching the championship game was brutal. He had averaged 20 in the tournament and his teammates acted like he was not on the floor. They were raving about the FR PG who passed the ball about 5 times the whole first half. Horrible team play.Rough one for our guy.
