Looking forward to watching him at ISU. Has the potential to be really good. His bat is already elite. Could play in the field next year or DH.

Here's what is said about him on the website above...

Jandaniel Gonzalez, Puerto Rico HS (committed to Indiana State): While it’s entirely conceivable the two aforementioned high school catchers end up in the SEC, Gonzalez is much more likely to turn pro. There’s a long way to go offensively with Gonzalez, so you’re talking very low floor despite his defensive package. Gonzalez is only 17, so there is definitely time to work the swing issues out.

Another site with a story all about him...albeit a subscription is required. Oh, and it's in Spanish.

BUT, I google translated the headline, and here's what it says...

"Jandaniel González: the story of overcoming one of the best Puerto Rican prospects for the 2023 Class of the MLB draft A torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) prevented him from continuing to play with Puerto Rico in the Under-18 World Cup, but a successful rehabilitation with trainer José Cruz has put him back on the radar of multiple Major League teams"

If you look at that PG website, he has a 9.5 rating which the 9 says a potential Top 10 round MLB draft pick or high level college player. Will be interesting to see if we can get him on campus.

Grandfather (George/RHP) played under ISU HC Jim Rendel during the early 70's. He was a Silver Creek alum (along w/ Steve & RT Green) and began his collegiate career @ Hanover.
