Have come to ranked teams at the time we played them.

#13 UCLA (Currently unranked but they are 9-3 headed into a home game against #7 Mizzou)
#25 New Mexico (Just went unranked after a 70-65 loss to SDSU. They're 12-1 on the year)
#18 San Diego State (Had moved up to #17 after beating us. Now 11-2) on the year.

So that is a combined record of 32-6.

Only loss that sticks in my craw was the Morehead State game as they've gone on to lose their last two after beating us and are now 5-7 on the year. They lost to North Dakota State by 20 in their last game. Should have won that one.

Not a moral victory kind of guy... Just not for me. To take that next step you have to win atleast one of those games, it's as simple as that. Looks good on paper - but nothing else in my book.

I don't think it is a moral victory at all. The fact is, we were in 3 of those 4 games but couldn't finish. That is impressive when you consider how poor of a shooting team this is.

Fair. I guess all I'm saying is at the end of the day that's all fine and good and I guess if your going to lose you hope that it comes to a ranked team. Still helps the RPI and SOS - at the end of the day, I'm counting wins and losses - I look at it like you had the chance to beat 3 ranked teams and lost all 3.

We all know that the UCLA game wasn't going to go our way. A few calls our way vs. New Mexico and or SDSU and maybe just maybe we pull the upset! Good teams get calls and good teams don't let bad called impact the outcome of a game.

just curious when was the last time ISU started a season and had to play 4 top 25 teams within the first 14 games of the year? (And Miami was receiving votes prior to dropping out of the polls Monday night)

I think we can be one of the best shooting teams we've ever had.

It's true that we don't rank well in the MVC in shooting, but we are shooting much better than our opponents, and we have the best SOS. We've played 5 teams in the top 64. And we did have a shooting slump earlier in the year that weighs heavily on our average for only 11 games. We will be in the top half in shooting and top third in FG defense in the Valley. In 2001, we were outshot by our opponents and that seems highly unlikely for this team.
