Is that the Sphere? I've got a buddy who has played that golf course a couple times!

For those of you that enjoy golf - $700 per round while ridiculous isn't uncommon even around these humble parts of the country. Canyata located in Marshall, costs around $650 to $700 a round depending on if you get a group discount or not. I've played it twice now and the place is incredible. Forsyth family owned course - it's immaculate as you can imagine.

I toured it about 6 years ago...incredible.

I've played the Wynn course a couple of times. Thankfully I was always there for work so I was able to expense it, but it's definitely worth it for those that love golf. If you stay at the Wynn, you just walk out of the casino and are in an oasis.

They began closing the course a few years ago (demolished around 3-4 holes), but they brought it back. Now that the Sphere is there, it's definitely even more of an attraction.

Yes... I'm not paying over $350 for a round of golf unless I can expense it. Simply not going to happen!

Yeah, apparently it's been such a hit that they want to build one in London now.

Watched some of the videos from inside during the U2 concerts. Provided you could handle the sensory overload, looks intense. It'll be interesting to see what visual artists can do with the space with more time and experience under their belts. Probably will become the epicenter for mushroom consumption, too.

Would definitely love to play Canyata. That one has been on my list for a long time. I just rarely golf when I come back to Indiana unfortunately.

I’ve personally paid some excessive green fees but it’s rare. Most golf trips I take personally are about the people I’m with rather than the destination. I can have fun on any goat track with the right group.

Played the "old" and "new" Wynn many times. The old was way, way better. Loved that walk up 18 being "among" the hotel and Steve Wynn's dogs barking at you (although you get 10 Grand if you ace the now par 3). 15 was as pretty of a par 3 as anywhere. All gone now sadly.

If you play it again ask for Andrew Valainis to be your caddy. He's from Indiana, (a fellow Bishop Chatard alum), former IHSAA State Champion Golfer, and brother to Maris Valainis who played Jimmy Chitwood in Hoosiers.

Definitely will do. I’ll be there in early November and the plan right now is to play the Wynn. I’ll ask for Andrew - thanks for the recommendation!
