Congratualtions to all the Trees that were honored! They all deserved it!

However, the dearth of Sycamore selections is a bit of a slap in the face, but oh well, we're still playing!!!

Man we got hosed IMO. Wasn't Heidorn Special Team POW 2 or 3 times, and doesn't even get PK honorable mention? Perish should have easily been QB - how can he be third in Conference POY voting behind 2 RBs and not be first team QB?

Oh well, individual awards don't really matter - it's what the team does on the field that does. And I think that could have played into it - we have so many guys that make solid contributions that one individual on our team isn't going to stand out like a one man show from another team (i.e. Our receiving corps, entire defense, etc.).

I thought the kicker from UNI was probably the best in the conference. He missed that 52yd fg into the wind by about 4 yds. that was way closer that I thought was possible

Roberson was totally unimpressive against the Trees. Waaaaay too much hype surrounding this guy IMHO.

He could run the ball and kind of throw IMO. with the weapons he had I think a faster version of me could have been that good.

Id take 1. Perish and 2a. SDSU QB and 2b. WIU QB before him

Perish should have been 1st team, although Roberson must have had some big games for Illinois State, because he certainly didn't against us. Speaking of Illinois State, they had 17 players named--that must mean they're at least twice as good as us. UNI also had 13 players??

Indiana State junior linebacker Connor Underwood highlights a list of eight Sycamores who earned All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors today (Dec. 1) as announced by the league office. The All-MVFC teams were selected by a postseason vote of league head coaches, sports information directors, beat writers and a media panel.

Congratulations to all of the Sycamores who made it onto these lists. Really thought Perish was close to a lock for 1st team. Not sure what else the kid would have to do to be the first team quarterback.

Sewall and Perish should have been first team. For Perish to do what he did with an inexperienced Offensive Coordinator was phenomenal.

Sycamores Shortchanged on All-Missouri Valley Conference Teams

http://www.valley-football.org/news/default/2014-15/7720/2014-valley-football-all-conference/

I am EXTREMELY disappointed that Perish did not make 1st Team. Tre Robertson was not impressive against us. Perish did not play in that game and the Missouri Valley Conference powers apparently punished him for that. If he had played, every ISU fan I now feels certain we would have won the game.

Underwood is the only Sycamore to make the first team. Perish, Mark Sewall and Travis Starks made the 2nd team. So did offensive lineman Aaron Jelovic.

Gary Owens and Kendall Walker are the only Sycamores on Honorable Mention. Heidorn certainly deserved that recognition and maybe more. He won games for us.

Here is what Robertson did against Indiana State:

Passing: 16 of 31, 170 yards, one interception, no TDs
Rushing 16 carries for 32 net yards, no TDs

Here is what freshman Adam did:
Passing: 21 of 42, 201 yards, 2 TDs, no interceptions
Rushing: 9 carries, net - minus 26 yards, no TDs

Don't forget Josh Appel--he made HM also. The life of a long snapper I guess. When he came in, he certainly stabilized a very tenuous situation at that position and in not hearing about him, he has done his job extremely well.

I don't know how I overlooked Josh Appel. Sorry. There are at least a half dozen other ISU players who I feel deserve conference recognition but may not have the numbers to justify a strong argument.

I missed everything from the 1st defense down because after the offense, I was so mad that I couldnt read

Yep, Mark and Mike and a bunch of other deserving Sycamores got gipped. But if I've learned anything this year while watching our guys, is that at the end of the day, the essence of sport is all about TEAM. The Gene Hackman character, Hickory's coach in Hoosiers, got it right and so have we!!

GO SYCAMORES BEAT THE MOCS!!!
