Sycamore Family,
A new chapter in college athletics is here, and Indiana State University is ready to move forward with clarity, purpose, and a commitment to embracing this new world for our department and student-athletes.
The recent approval of the House v. NCAA settlement represents a major shift in how college athletics will operate moving forward. This is a necessary first step in navigating this new era of collegiate athletics. It sets a much-needed standard. Our athletics department decided to "opt in" to the settlement and we will continue to navigate this into the future. The biggest areas that impact our department moving forward are revenue sharing and roster limits.
Revenue sharing with student-athletes will be a new business model in place but will be driven by dollars generated by the department. This will impact our coaches so they can focus on building a program that can consistently compete for and win championships. With roster limits, the current scholarship model will be replaced by sport-specific roster caps. While some current roster sizes will be grandfathered in, this change may impact overall participation.
Our campus has been extremely supportive, and we have included numerous people into these conversations as we, the university, see how this can positively impact not only our student-athletes, but our campus, alumni, fans and community.
There is still a lot to develop as we enter these uncharted waters, but there are a few areas we will continue to emphasize.
It is hard to believe that it has been a little over a year since I began my tenure here at Indiana State University. This past year we have seen a ton of success academically, athletically and we are generating revenue to build on our future success. Later this month we will share our 2024-2025 Annual Report which will highlight all of our amazing accomplishments from the academic year. We are also working with RATIO, an architect firm based out of Indianapolis that is helping us develop our Athletics Facility Master Plan. We plan to share some highlights of that plan later this fall.
Thank you for your continued belief in our vision, and in the incredible student-athletes who represent Indiana State University with pride. We will continue to INVEST in our student-athletes, campus and community! It is a pleasure to serve as your Director of Athletics.

- Our commitment to the student-athlete experience is still our priority. Sport-specific roster limits greatly enhance the ability to improve the quantity and quality of that experience.
- Our focus is on providing the resources necessary to compete for conference and national championships and continue the championship legacy built by our coaches and student-athletes.
- One of the biggest revenue streams comes from ticket sales and Varsity Club memberships. Purchasing season tickets and supporting our teams at Hulman Center, Bob Warn Field and Memorial Stadium are essential for sustained success.
- Sycamore Athletic Fund donations from annual giving to major gifts and capital campaigns provide the foundation for our programs. Including memberships into our Investor Society, which is our philanthropic leadership society dedicated to empowering student-athletes to excel in competition, in the classroom, and in life. The Investor Society is Sycamore Athletics' game plan for long-term success with a focus on three key priorities:
- Enhancing the total operating budget to strengthen all athletic programs.
- Investing in facility improvements for championship-level preparation.
- Building a sustainable future for generations of Sycamores to come.
- Sponsorship and advertising are major components as well. A partnership with Indiana State Athletics gives your brand access to one of the most loyal fan bases.
- Support Crossroad of Champions, which is our fund that supports our student – athletes and will provide vital revenue share support to Indiana State student-athletes.
