We all know what Kelly is doing, and I read that Isiah is going to pursue pro opportunities overseas. What's Carter going to do now that he's graduated? I looked at his media guide bio and it didn't say what his major was (I wish that was always included; often quite interesting).

I had heard at one time that Carter was a possible grad assistant with the hoops team. Don't know if that went any further.

As for Isiah, there are always jobs for big men overseas.

I discussed this with Kelly, but regarding Martin; I don't see how a mid-major minute-man can play pro anywhere.

And as I said in the Kelly thread, I don't think some folks realize just how many pro basketball teams there are internationally.

I think Carter was a marketing major. I'm pretty sure (though I have not talked to him) he is back home looking for a job...

In his own words...

He is a sport management major

In case you missed it...

In late Jan 2011, Aaron did an interview with The Sycamore Nation. Here are his statements on classes and his future.

I am a marketing major with a minor in sports management. I should graduate in May. I have to take fifteen (15) hours to get my diploma...

Right now I haven’t thought too much about the future. I am trying to focus on basketball. I want to do business somehow but I don’t know what kind of entry level position I can get. I would say it would be somewhere around Indianapolis. That is a bigger city and I would have more opportunities. I know several people in Indianapolis so hopefully that will work out.

Maybe we should start a poll to see what others think his minor is.

As for mentioning that a lot of former IU players played pro overseas, was that meant to mean that just about anyone can make it there? That's the way I took it.

Do we really care how many gloomington players are playing overseas? :krazy:

Part of the overseas game is willingness to play in those countries / leagues; the citizenship issue can raise it's head as well, each league has different rules on how many Americans can be on a roster.

The money isn't always the best but most of the clubs provide an apartment, a car/transportation, cover the income taxes, etc.

The biggest drawback is 'falling off' the NBA radar.

Agree on this point. Seems to me like there are many playing there who would never be on the NBA radar no matter where they play. It's a great way to continue playing the game you love while making a decent living and seeing a different part of the world.
