The Nicks Level
5 of the MVFC teams (NDSU,UNI, Indiana State, Youngstown state and SIU)
are all better than Minnesota.
I know it's just computers but that's seriously crazy....

Might be true for this year, but as long as Jerry Kill doesn't have to retire due to health reasons and the school gives him a few years, Minnesota won't be that bad in the future. The man can flat out coach and has won everywhere else he has been. He will get it done at Minn. as well.

I concur I just thought that took a little out of that win by NDSU. Not targeting them I am just pointing out the sagrin rating (Which in reality is regularly inaccurate)....

ok Im not gloating because I know how terrible the Gophers are but man why is EVERYONE downplaying our win at MN?? I know they are bad but I would put $1000 bucks WKU gets rolled by the Gophers....just saying.

With that I feel bad for Kill he walked into a shitstorm there and the fanbase (whats left) isnt going to give him a chance

Wasnt my point...and I don't think those people who are "trying" to take the wind out of your guys sails just the crazies who think the national championship trophy has already been delivered to the fargodome

Any time you beat a Big 10 team at home it's a big deal. I don't care who you are. Minn would kill WKU, but so did we! I think Minn would be a decent MVFC team this year, but I don't think they would win our conference. I think there are 3 or 4 of us that could beat Minn this year, but NDSU beat them very solidly. I think if the MVFC were a 1-A league this year, top to bottom, we would be better than the Sun Belt, WAC, and probably the MAC.

Sagarin Conference Ratings

The comment was made that top to bottom the MVFC would rival the MAC, WAC & Sun Belt.

Current Conference Sagarin Ratings:

C-USA: 63.96
MAC: 62.05
WAC: 61.66
Sun Blt: 59.33
So. Con...57.66 FCS
CAA........57.35...FCS
MVFC......54.60...FCS

Certainly some overlap of top of FCS and bottom of these leagues and even the bottom of the BCS leagues but overall, the 1-A conferences are rated as higher strength with a noticeable gap between the MVFC and the WAC and those above it.

The top of the Valley would fair well against the middle to bottom of the SunBelt and The WAC.

Top of the Valley vs. top of the WAC and SunBelt would be competitive but I would (based on numbers) give adavantage to our FBS brethern.

Gosh the MAC certainly is up this year! I remember in years past when the Valley was super strong where there seemed to be dead even parity between FBS MAC and FCS Valley.

It is kinda crazy to think that some or most of these schools are former FCS schools and glancing back on it, how do they make sense of that decision? It just doesn't make any sense, "Let's spend more money and lose more." I think some schools on the FBS stage need to be cut back to the FCS stage.
