I thought I read that the #1 seeds were determined by first 4 out and home terms would be determined by NET? (Basically ranked by NET)

Hey Joey, have enjoyed listening to your calls this season.

Why wouldn't we be the home team? I thought we were the #1 overall seed
First four out went Oklahoma, Seton Hall, ISU, Pitt. OU declined the invitation, therefore making Seton Hall the number one overall seed and us number two.

Sweet! Please let me/us know if they’ve all been allocated. I want them used by students - $25 is cheap but idk for college kids
Email got sent out this morning at 8:16, they sent the all full email at 9:25. Which I’m surprised it took that long (also glad because if they went quick I would’ve missed out due to 😴😴😴), but also wonder if some students hesitated because they had already spent hundreds of dollars on a ticket and were worried about selling it.

Good to hear!! The resell seats have been crazy, but the people holding those tickets know some ISU fan will pay that much.

Correction on this - the student tickets went in about 15 minutes. I did not get one

DraftKings has a good parlay boost but no player props. Fanduel has player props but no odds boost. what is wrong with this world.

I know I'm in the minority with this take...but I don't like betting on College sports. If you get a chance read the Connie Hawkins biography, "Foul". Not condemning or making a judgement for anyone for betting, but this has almost destroyed college basket ball twice in the past. The Pacers HOF'er Roger Brown got caught up in this mess as well and if it almost cost him his career, and would have if the ABA hadn't been there.

The betting scandal included Doug Moe of UNC, Tony Jackson from St. John's University, Roger Brown of University of Dayton, and students from NYU, North Carolina State, and the UConn. Hall of Famer Connie Hawkins was kicked out of Iowa, but was never even actually involved. Hawkins was barred from playing in NCAA, NIA, or the NBA due to these allegations until his lawsuit for reinstatement was successful in 1969.
Saint Joseph's University was stripped of its third-place finish in the 1961 NCAA tournament.

I get the problems with it. I struggle to casually watch sports that I dont have an emotional investment in. But I really enjoy betting props because I can still care what happens in the end of a game that is not in contention. (I joke about it draining me financially but I rarely go over $10). small time sports betting has kind of got me into watching games that I wouldnt normally watch.

funny story, during the MVC tournament when we were playing Missouri St you guys were mentioning Robbie looked like he was sick on the bench after the game so I think i had a free bet for saturday, and i went down to the game. I took Robbie under 1.5 3 pointers with multiple other legs on a parlay because I thought he would struggle since he was "Sick". I think he had 4 three pointers before 5 minutes were gone.

Am I crazy for saying this NIT run is more fun than making NCAA tourney and losing in say the play in game?

I’ve been anti NIT but man this has been great
I think there would have been a lot of press for that play in game because they generally dont have any storylines. I think they would have played up Robbie and the Larry Bird connection. Not sure if we win that how much more it would have done unless we won to the round of 16. But getting screwed got us quite a bit of exposure in the stuff that I follow. Maybe Im just noticing more. If we werent in it, I wouldnt listen to stories about Butler or SMU

Drake was a 10 seed, assuming we would have been an 8 or 9 we would have been in Indy and faced Purdue. Miracles can happen (see NC State), but I'm not sure we're still playing in the "other tournament".

Meanwhile, we've gotten a ton of interest from being snubbed, especially with 3 wins out and counting over power con teams, plus all the local interest from 3 extra sold out home games and happy downtown businesses.

As the only mid-major still playing, we're absolutely the Cinderella story even just being in the NIT.
