Are the Sycamores for real?

Tonights game vs Drake will tell a lot about our team. A win on the road here, will really build up our confidence. But of course it depends what team shows up tonight, is it the one that beat Notre Dame and Evansville on the road ? or do we beat ourselves ? We have enough talent on this roster, to beat anybody in the Missouri Valley including the Shockers.

Currently, at ESPN, we are the 9th best shooting team in the country, 49.7%.

I even bought from the Bulldogs website, whatever you call that program to watch tonights game, this is a difficult place to play!!

Hopefully Coach Lansing, can pay back those nice folks from his home state, with a win for the men in blue.

This place was a BITCH even when Bird played...cracker box gym's are never easy. That's why I loved seeing Vigo Schools play @ Otter Creek HS's old gym during the 50's..."Hoosier's"-type atmosphere, where home cooking had spicy FLAVOR!

Fellas, the Trees are 9th in the country in team shooting and 2 points from being 13-1 right now. I was at the ND game, and say what you may about ND this year but it was impressive. When they play team defense and shoot it like they do, they are really tough to beat. They win this one on the road tonight and separate themselves from the rest of the pack. WSU and ISU are the teams to beat in this league.

Yeah we are still a ways off from being top 25. Great win but need to keep it in perspective. We'd have to win at Wichita or win like 6 of our next 7 in order to crack the top 25. Valley is not very good this year.

There are several non-conference teams around the country that would probably take exception to the comment that "the Valley is not very good this year". That statement is driven primarily by the media. The Valley looks to be soft at the bottom but that is usually the case...........many many times we have been a part of that group. NOT THIS YEAR! The Sycamores have come to play!

I think we need to win some games in Feb. . While all games are important its all about how you finish your season and recent seasons have not proved to be kind in Feb. Ask this question around the end of Feb. and see the responses that come . If we are still winning games then we can talk about doing something in March. I am also worried that the lack of good quality wins Pre-conference will make it almost impossible to do anything post season without beating WSU . If you recall when we won Arch Madness Mizzery State had a great record but the lack of quality pre-conference wins left them holding the bag in March.

Win and it will all fall into place. This team needs to keep its, "mind right". Last night, I liked how they kept their heads and hit key shots down the stretch. I would hate for them to start thinking of polls yet - too soon.
