Good for them. In a day and age when most SEC schools are selling their academic souls to win championships, Arkansas shows it has some integrity left. Of course maybe they also knew of other problems that coincide with his latest public blunder. It is surprising. I don't think I've heard a single pundit say they expected him to be fired, maybe suspended, but that was it.
 
The days of looking the other way on any offense are gone in todays' society.Technology has made hiding anything almost impossible.Also,as bent says ,this may be just one incident amoung others that haven't seen the light of day as yet.

My buddy (he's an arkansas alum) said this is just one of many offenses for petrino...they were to the point of no tolerance
 
They pretty much had to fire him after all the lying he did about the whole situation. He hired her over 200 other applications and then paid her $25,000 for the job, was having an affair and the mistresses soon to be hubby I believe is the swimming coach at Arkansas. He lied about several phases of the accident and to the police. Not sure why he was riding his girlfriend around town on a motorcycle when you think they would be trying to hide the relationship??

The guy is a hell of a coach but a total scum bag. He was rumored to be cheating on his wife while at Louisville and remember he quit the Falcons without warning the day after a Monday night loss to take the Razorback job.

Must be the Italian blood line...Pitino & Calipari are a couple other "models" that come to mind. After the 'Ville won the Orange Bowl 100 yrs ago, Petrino bolted quickly from the land of chicken & pizza! Card fans (and A.D. Tom Jurich) weren't too happy about his manipulation of the situation.

Wasn't his son arrested for marijuana possession last Summer while "recruiting" in Jasper? He was an Assistant Coach @ Wild Pig U.
