Golden just posted on twitter that Lansing stated that while Arop is still suspended, he will return to action this season. Still no reason given for the suspension.

Golden said he would have more details on the trib website soon about Lansing not speaking after the game.

See Jason's theard on Lansing not speaking last night. As to Arop I hope he does learn which is more important than playing. We could have used him last night that is for sure, get it right Manny we need you.

so does this mean he'll play at UE??.....I'm going to the game and would like to know ahead of time.......come on Lansing....make a decision....

BPie, at the game last night, the consensus opinion was that it is a minimum of two games and I would not have any reason to doubt that. He has told Todd Golden (or some press) that he is NOT finished for the season but no more info than that. He might play in St. Louis or at the post-season tourney such as the NIT/CBI etc. I truly believe it will be more than two games but hey, you never know.

I haven't read every post on this site since yesterday's game, so this might have already been said, but...

We lost by 11 and Arop averages 12.

I hope he's back for Evansville.

A few interesting facts/qoutes from Lansing today......

"Arop did practice with the team prior to the Evansville game, and Lansing did confirm that Arop’s suspension would be lifted at some point and that he is still part of the team’s plans."

"'He’s going to be back with this team. There’s no doubt about that. We just have to decide that whatever did warrants how many games. We’ll make that decision as we go,” Lansing said.'"

I see where Golden quotes the following to end his column:

"It is Senior Night for the Purple Aces. Evansville’s Colt Ryan, a 2,000-point career scorer and one-time ISU recruit, will play his final regular season home game tonight."

Over the past four (4) years, did anyone ever figure out how UE bested ISU in this recruitng instance, given the "inside presence" that we already had established w/ the Menser Family in Batesville?

Word is McKenna didn't make him feel like a priority during his visit to ISU.

Frankly, I will be disappointed in Coach Greg if he ALLOWS him to play today. Let's face it, suspending a player at this time of the year took some real kahunas and I totally respect him for it but under-penalizing him shows a lack of spine, IMO.

He's been a very good player for them. Would have been nice to have him at ISU, but he's not so outstanding that a team should feel it necessary to bend over backwards to get him. If he was that non-committal then it's just as well.

I had always gotten the feeling/vibe that Ryan wanted to come to Indiana State, but McKenna was not overly excited about him. Remember though, that JO got the last scholarship that year so would you trade JO for Ryan?

Like was mentioned, if K-mac wanted him bad enough, I'm sure that he could've maneuvered schollies...wasn't as if we were "talent excessive" back then.
Just think, if we'd had Odum & Ryan in the same backcourt for no less than 3 yrs...perpetual 3-pt threat, w/ Odum penetration keeping life loose...enhanced interior passing lanes. Gee...the dream.

I think that's what Jordan Printy was supposed to be.

Because it matters if they embrace him or not?!?! I mean we are talking about a team that lost 5 of the last 6 games so what if they don't embrace him. Whats it going to do result in a loss - oh well...

I've got no more energy to contribute to a very tallented ball player who couldn't live up to his end of the deal.

The Syracuse "kick out"...ahhh yes, I recall Mr. Printy. As history shows, there's been no comparison - especially when addressing CONSISTENCY. Also, how many times did JP get to the FT line? Ryan?

ISU coaches sure missed the boat on this issue. Where was Printy from???

Are we so sure that Arop will be back for our first tournament game? I'm assuming he doesn't play until the NIT, CBI, or whatever consolation tournament we play in. I'd be happy if he does play on Friday, but I've seen nothing to indicate he will other than Lansing saying Arop will be back at some point this year.
