Time will tell. It was a concussion, so they have to go through the testing progression, and he would have to be cleared to play by a doctor--this probably won't happen until Thursday.

Doubt it. Injury and healing seems to have changed in a lot of coaches eyes. A more strategic management of players health is used...if it helps prevent further injury to have a player sit until the walk throughs on Friday...a lot of coaches will play that player anyway. That said I have no idea what Trent will do.

Depends on how severe the concussion was. Fortunately, he got up and walked off and appeared alert later while on the sidelines.

Miles said he was crying at halftime when they told him that he wouldn't play in the second half. Sounds to me like it's not too bad. At least they didn't have to remind him what state he was in...

Coach Miles also said he could probably have played in the second half but they held him out to be safe.

I suspect when anything is known both Rick Semmler (wthi) and Golden will post on twitter.

I believe Ryan Roberts left the Butler game with symptoms of a concussion and did not return. He started and played the next week at Western Kentucky. Bell is a warrior, hope he plays.

sounds like Bell is going to be ok! And Ryan Roberts will play too, per Semmler!

ISU RB Shakir Bell practices tonight, Per Coach Miles, Bell will play Saturday vs. Western llinois. wthitv.com/dpp/sports/col…

Coach Miles was on the radio yesterday, said Shakir passed the baseline test and practiced Monday night. As someone said earlier, he said he wished he had that information at halftime on Saturday, but wanted to err on the side of caution.

Roberts had the flu. Don't see any reason not to expect him to be better and ready to go this week.
