The Nicks Level
Who are the 3 best basketball players, at any level, you have seen live? TV games don't count in this one. I don't want to open up a debate over the best players ever. I just thought we could have some fun with this. Rank them if you wish. My selections, in order, are:

1. Oscar Robertson--like LB, one of the 5 best ever

2. Larry Bird--like the Big O, one of the 5 best ever

3. Roger Brown--from the ABA Pacers, the things he could do on both ends of the floor

I've been fortunate enough to get to see...

Larry Bird
Michael Jordan
Reggie Miller

And at the high school level.....Damon Bailey. Damon was one of the best HS players ever. I said it.

(oops, not trying to start a best HS player of all time debate, just providing a reason I listed Damon)

Agree that Oscar Robertson was best (in Highschool) hands down. Larry Bird in College, and Bill Russell in Pro's. till pro basketball became a joke with great players, and few or no firm rules.

1 Reggie miller- seems like he was always all over the floor making plays on both sides of the ball.
2 Lebron James- the guy can do everything on the floor and will recover from this hellacious past year.
3 MJ- it's jordan

Glad to see your inclusion of Roger Brown. Makes me laugh when the young pups act like they invented the crossover. Rajah was doing it back before they allowed "palming"

Reggie Miller
Ray Allen
Chauncey Billups
Rip Hamilton

College:
Michael Menser, favorite player in ISU history
Kenneth Faried
Shelvin Mack
AJ Graves

Sorry, I had to add the college players in there, because I am not that old to see the greats of Bird, Jordan.

Chief....you just answered that question for me too. My favorite, no doubt, no hesitation, Reggie Miller. (at the pro level), & Bird at the collegiate level.

Saw Jordan go for like 52 in person. Best player ever. Also saw Magic, Bird and a ton of others. Not individual, but saw the early 90s UNLV teams in person... Amazing squads to see. Saw them play Gathers/Kimble to a 140-136 game. Crazy! Was in like fifth grade and I remember being in awe.

When MJ was on the Wizards he was style mesmorizing to watch. Even though his knees were ancient and he had very little athleticism, he still could score. I wasn't really a student of the game during the 90's since I was just a kid but watching him in Washington (As weird as this sounds) was really some of my favorite moments of him. Plus, the Wizards were no threat to the Pacers at the time so i didnt have to worry about him dropping 50 on us to kill Reggie again.

Along with Bill Russell, i would suggest Bob Cousy, the consummate point guard.

who won nothing until he teamed with russell.

as i said after russell who else really matters.

lebron should not be allowed to wear number 6
