Welcome to the Best of Sycamore Pride. It's highly curated, completely subjective, and 100 percent ranked according to us. This is the guide to the places you need to try right now and where our boardies choose to eat, drink and be Sycamore.

How can you participate?

This is a living poll. That means you can return and change your vote(s) at any time to best reflect your current opinion. Feel free to provide some color and discuss the places you've tried, what you did or didn't like, what have you. If you believe this particular category is missing an establishment that should be considered, drop a post saying as much. The top three vote getters will be featured in the guide and considered the Best of Sycamore Pride.

I would eat the Sycamore Skillet every day. Like they jipped me in meat Saturday morning after the parade and it was still fantastic.

Corsair at the airport and Sunrise on Margaret are both good. The only two I've been to on recent visits.

The best breakfast in town is when I'm actually home and cook 😆. I'm honestly telling the truth when I say I'd rather eat a breakfast I cooked than a breakfast from anywhere else. Breakfast is by far my favorite meal and I'll eat breakfast foods any time of the day. As a matter of fact I just got done eating a Super Slam (eggs, pancakes, hash browns, sausage links, and bacon) at Denny's up here in Wisconsin.

As for the list, I've only been to Cackleberries and the Coffee Cup, but it's been years since I've been to either, but not because I disapprove, just because I generally cook breakfast for myself at home. I've had donuts from Square Donuts at church or wherever else in the past, but I only like regular glazed donuts, and it's pretty hard to mess those up. About the only thing I go out to eat for when I'm home now is Mexican, because I literally eat out every day out here on the road.

Is it fair to vote for Charlie's again in this category? Although, admittedly I have had "breakfast" at 7:00am at Charlies while at ISU, but didn't necessarily remember much of it the next day.

Charlies breakfast is fire. I forgot about them… That’s a good one!

Terre Haute needs a Waffle House.
Glad this was mentioned....am I losing my mind or did we have a Waffle House near I-70 area and 3rd street in the late 80's early 90's? I could have sworn we did, but no one I talked to about it remembers it. Most likely I am crazy, but perhaps some of you can answer that.

We had a Waffle House....many strawberry roll ups met their end at my hands...that is before diabetes took over....damn the bad luck!!!!!
3rd street across from campus....on the way home from my bartender gig at the Little Slipper. A early 70s hot spot.

Not quite where I was thinking and also much earlier....when did that location close?
