OK some of you may think this ridiculous, but I'm thinking this may be the best overall team we've had since Bird. Crazy ? Think about it -- we've seen in the past few years what happened when our best player went down (Moss for example). Think about those early 2000's teams if Menser, Renn, and Block had all been lost to injury. We would not have been able to beat a decent South High School intramural team.
But these guys ..........give 'em credit. Lose the best incoming player (Kelly) in 25 years --- they keep battling. Down goes Lathan -- probably the most athletic and potentially most exciting player we may ever had at ISU -- we just keep going. And Harry -- despite some offcourt issues one of the best leaders and top notch defensive players we've seen in Terre Haute in many many years --- the team just keeps going for it.
I know Drake is not exactly a top notch team but once again we'd have been blown out in past years if we lost our best three players. And given the effort at WSU I think the above makes some real sense ............
