Gotta scratch the back of your East Coast members that got your network into millions of more cable subscriber's homes.

I would ask Who Cares, but I guess you guys do. I grew up in Bloomington and don't care anything about the big 14. The power 5 is destroying college sports and I don't give any of my money to support them unless they are playing us.

It'll be right back in INDY soon enough. I think we know that this town is built for this kind of event. Madison Square Garden next year. After they pay for the cost of Washington and New York hotel rooms AND food, they will be clamoring to return to the Heartland.

I just don't like seeing midwest money flowing to the east or west coast. We are already considered irrelevant by MSM.

Was solely about adding the TV markets and East Coast opportunity.

At the end of the day; most of Jim Delaney's decisions are motivated to dominate the eastern half of the U.S.; that's why he has the Big Ten sanctioning lacrosse and hockey -- lacrosse was a payoff to Maryland and Rutgers, plus he likely liked sticking it to the ACC...

Delaney is an East Coaster -- he's NOT a Midwestern guy, despite his long time tenure as the Big Ten Commish

Did he (Delaney) ever think about geographic isolation of Rutgers & Maryland and their not-so huge impact on Big Ten viewers, who could care less about the EAST COAST? If Delaney wants the Ea$t Coa$t, his a$$ should move back. This zest for "advertising & market shares" has distorted the game to the point that it's not even fun to watch IN PERSON anymore. 'Friggin "media TO's" every 4 minutes are like leaches to game enthusiasm, and people wonder WHY game attendance is dwindling? At some time soon, we'll start seeing the "law of diminishing returns" on TV/ESPN3 games. I haven't watched a full Big Ten game all season - especially involving Rutgers or Maryland.

Adding Rutgers and Maryland to the B10 has added $$$ to that conference much like the addition of Loyola has generated $$$ for the Missouri Valley Conference.:frown::thumbsdown::hypnotized:

This theory of big-city "media hype" elevating NATIONAL exposure was finally abandoned by the OVC, who after almost 1/4 century, invested in Nashville, TN as their launching pad to big time athletics. Next year, the OVC Post-Season will be in Evansville. What's sad is that it took 24 yrs. to recognize the FAILURE of an idea.

Loyola-Chicago-MVC...same dreams.
