President Bradley stepping down in January

Woah. I had heard a rumor he likely would only have a couple more years but this one is out of left field. Anyone hearing anything?

Wow --- the next pres will definitely have some big, BIG shoes to fill; hard to think of a better president for ISU...

A GREAT leader for our university....This one will hurt for us

It shouldn't hurt too bad... Every great leader leaves the organization he left in a better place than when he started. In other words, no reason why someone shouldn't be able to pick up right where he left off. We all know that doesn't always happen - but if he's left us in a good place (rather than the alternative) we should be okay.

He's had a great run - time for someone with a similar vision for growth, someone who embraces the city as a whole (Riverscape, downtown Terre Haute etc.) someone who makes a commitment to community service, someone who understands our fiscal challenges but who is willing to continue making progress in upgrading facilities and expanding academic opportunties for students. He's accomplished a great deal and I'd hate to underscore his efforts - but it aint Dale Jr leaving Nascar for goodness sakes - we will survive this one!

Selfishly I'm sorry to hear this news. He's been great for ISU and he's leaving behind a high standard for his replacement.

You kind of point out WHY it may hurt us in para. 2... WILL his successor have a Similar Vision for Growth? Will they EMBRACE the city? Will they have the SAME or better committments?

Hopefully, the search committee and trustees find THAT person.

dale jr? nascar??

Dale Jr holds a special place in Twitch's life. He's up on a very, very high pedestal.

My cat Anthony Dale (Anthony Rizzo of the Cubs and Dale Jr of Nascar) in mourning yesterday. We're having a difficult time right now.

nascar... is that also spelled neck-ar? have read some people opine its a large group of drunk hillbillies watching a smaller group of less drunk hillbillies race (taxi-)cars around in circles...
