Good for them--2 class guys and excellent players (and as a Chicago area guy, raises the flag to recruit more kids from this area). There are plenty that are "under-recruited" that could help us, but wind up at other schools, either in the MVFC or other divisions.
And occasionally get a player into one of the higher-profile college all-star games..
like the Senior Bowl. Indiana State has done it twice before (Kirk Wilson, Vencie Glenn). I remember Vencie playing in both the Senior Bowl and the Blue-Gray All-Star game. I think it was the Senior Bowl when he opened up a lot of NFL scouts eyes even more. Vencie was playing free safety, ran the width of the field and tracked down Bo Jackson was a thundering sideline hit. I recall the TV announcers going nuts over the tackle. Jackson was slow to get up but then went over to Vencie and patted him on the back. It was great!!!!!!
I think Dan Brandenburg may have played in one of the major all-star games too.

I used to have a video of it when I worked at Indiana State....
but it mysteriously disappeared when my former boss had an intern clean my desk out for me and put everything into boxes. A bunch of video stuff from 1979 men's basketball and isu football highlight tapes from 1979 to the late 1980s all disappeared.
AWESOME!!!!!! Just two more examples of how far this program has come. These are two top shelf young men. I, for one am very proud of how they have represented this University during their tenure. I am sure that many others hold them in the same regard. Good luck to both of them in the bowl game as well as their future endeavors. GO TREES!!!![/
