Listening to the post game, it sounds like Burnett's shoulder injury could be a bad one. Really hope not. He's had such a good year to this point. He looked really good at Purdue. Also hate to see seniors miss games.

Golden reported it as a knee injury on twitter

It looked to be a knee injury by the way he was acting. He walked off with no help but was slightly limping.

I'm looking @ your icon pic on the rt. and notice a TOTALLY UNPROTECTED knee. Don't you think this "style" might be contributing to knee injuries?

Almost all of the injuries, including the 3 to the 2 boys, have been non-contact. Most of the DBs in the NFL don't even wear any pads. I've thought and asked the same thing about the pads, and have received "the look" (wow, you're really asking that?) in response. Larry K and Calvin the same--no contact. I think it has more to do with over training than anything; the joints and ligaments/tendons can't keep up with the musculature.

I'm seriously hoping that Calvin is ok and it's not a torn ACL as some in the program are thinking. I guess it was really similar to what happened to King (able to walk off after, etc.). The injuries we've had in the defensive backfield have been really bad so far, and I think losing Calvin for the season could be a nail in the coffin. We'll miss his experience, one-on-one coverage ability, and knack for making an open field tackle. Really hoping he is ok and that Sewall and Layne are back soon as well. All this said, the young guys having to fill in now have shown some good signs and are getting great experience.

At least Stowers was back this game, but yeah, we really have been hit hard by injuries to the secondary. Every starter has missed time now (possibly two done for the year) and now we've had two or three backups go down as well.

I didnt notice this at the game but the person behind me said that he jumped and when he landed he fell straight down. He was rushing the passer or something and i think he was trying to jump to block a pass.

Regarding acl tears, Ive seen them look different ways. I played with a guy (O Lineman) who tore his on 1st down, played 2nd and 3rd down then came off complaining about a pop he heard and it was an ACL tear. I also played with a guy who tore his and you would have thought he was being repeatedly stabbed with a knife for 5 minutes.
