Sounds like a pretty scary situation if they are having him go in immediately. Prayers for coach and a speedy recovery

Wow, very scary. Praying for you, your family and the team, coach! Coach had said the biggest strength of this team might be their chemistry and the way they work for each other. Sadly, we're going to need that much sooner than we thought.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's basketball head coach Matthew Graves will be taking a leave of absence, effective immediately, due to a medical procedure ahead of the start of the 2025-26 season.

I had bypass surgery when I was 69 and it took 3-6 months for me to really recover. Hopefully Coach Graves is having this done at a much younger age and his recovery will be quicker. You have to make a commitment to a lifestyle change if you want to live. This includes watching a low salt diet and exercise on a regular basis. Also you have to pretty much commit yourself to consuming alcohol in extreme moderation. Two beers per day max. And that would include skipping a few days in between. A close friend and fraternity brother of mine ignored his doctors on the beer consumption. He never cut back and suffered a massive stroke and died less than a year after his bypass surgery.

I don't think they mess around with a triple bypass...it's a "do it immediately" kind of thing.

All good thoughts and prayers for a successful procedure and speedy recovery.
